Title: Shame of the Game - Chargers
Post by: dolphins4life on November 02, 2014, 05:19:40 pm
Nobody this week

I will even give Sturgis a pass for the missed field goal.

If you had to choose, Daniel Thomas. However, that's like eating a perfect Thanksgiving dinner and then complaining because your napkin fell on the floor and you had to bend over to get it.

Why did they keep taking out Miller for Thomas?  Was he being punished for that dropped pass or something?

I know he hurt his shoulder late in the 3rd, but I don't know if he hurt it earlier. Either way, it's pretty obvious now that Miller just needed an O-Line to play well, whereas Thomas needs an empty field to run for 4 yards.

Resting him. No need to let Miller take an unnecessary beating with the game in hand

He did hurt his shoulder, but the game had pretty much been decided at that point.  So taking him outj was a smart move.

My Shame goes to Caleb Sturgis.  He's gotta make those kicks.

Sturgis gets the shame for sure.  I thought about giving it to Tannehill for his fumble, but it wasn't even a drive killer.  You gotta protect that ball, though.

Miller was reported to have been removed from the game with a "Stinger" and would be re-evaluated today.

If it's anyone, it's Sturgis -- he only had one real kick of distance and he blew it.  This is highlighted with questionable performance over the last year.

Once again Sturgis....  ??? ??? ??? ???

Look towards Miami picking up another kicker in the Offseason

Sturgis has really good leg, though.  I'd hate to see him discarded.  I hope he just figures it out.  Dude was automatic at Florida.
