Title: TEBOW NEWS!
Post by: MikeO on March 16, 2015, 02:37:35 pm

I heard that his throwing mechanics were completely different and way better than when he was playing for the Broncos.   He's obviously had time to train during his stint with ESPN College Gameday

It is because of Tebow that I can never feel safe about a Dolphins lead.

I checked the thesaurus, but "Tebow" is not synonymous with "neurochemical issues."

I think I lost my onside kick virginity that day.

This means that this was the first game I saw where the Dolphins lost a game that they could have won if they had just recovered an onside kick

Hence why I now don't consider a game sealed unless the opponent has to recover two onside kicks to comeback

Probably be best if you just wait till the clock shows all zeroes.

Well you always feel sure a loss is imminent before a game ends, so why would you feel any different about a potential victory??

Tell that to everybody else on this board

Edit:

Pappy your statement is wrong on two accounts:

1) The play could still be going on when the clock shows all zeros

2) There could be a defensive penalty

^^^Everyone else on this board? Try you and 2-3 others that spam threads with negativity as soon as something goes just a little wrong.

^^^^

More like you and everybody else who celebrates victories when the opponent still has a chance to comeback.

Negativity?  More like concern.  I mean, have you watched this team the last decade?

dolphins4life, let me try to shortcut this for you:

You continually post shame of the game threads before the game is over (even for a game MIA ended up coming back to win), yet insist that any positive evaluation of a game must be postponed until the game is officially concluded.

That is what is known as a "lack of consistency."

Tebow is reportedly nearing an agreement with the Eagles according to espn's twitter feed.

You can do worse than Tebow for a back up QB

Yes!  The greatest QB of them all is back!

Dave, where's the sarcasm font?

will he make the team, though?

Maybe this is just a press thing

I'm not sure about that, Tebow is that bad. He wasn't sitting out the last 2 years because he had too many offers and he was too good a plyer.  Plus with Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez....Tebow isn't making the team

I would take the god squad over butt fumble boy

Do NFL players get paid during mini-camps and training camp?

LOL. Oh wait you are serious. Sanchez (while nothing special by any means) is light years better than Tebow at QB

you know what is really funny

Tebow's record in the playoffs is 1-1
Sanchez's record in the playoffs is 4-2

Both of these quarterbacks have a higher playoff winning percentage then Peyton Manning.

NOW can we stop ranking quarterbacks based on TEAM stats?

Sanchez is an NFL QB.  He might be mediocre or damaged or whatever.  Tebow isn't.  He isn't capable of playing the position.  He doesn't have the skill-set.

I'll take 11-13 with a Superbowl win over 1-1 or 4-2 with no Superbowl and a garbage career.  Kind of a stretch to make your point, try again.

I think that is his point. They had a better percentage but are not better QB's so let's quit putting the team's record on their stats.

how about 8-10 with no sb wins?  Cause somehow I think that was the reference. Ya know this being a fish site.

I'll take 8-10 in the playoffs over a 17 year career any day of the year and twice on Sundays. Some bad luck and some bad defensive play were the only things that prevented Marino from cashing in a SuperBowl win over that time. Dan had a couple of really bad games in the playoffs, but for the most part the losses weren't because of him and other than maybe a couple years, without Dan they don't make the playoffs. Dan was able to overcome a lot of the deficiencies of the team during the season, but they were exposed in the playoffs against good teams.

According to espn, it was for the league minimum.

I wonder, is that more that he would make as an ESPN analyst?

Good point, I deleted it.

I'm really curious about my other point.

Let's say Tebow does make the Eagles.  Would his one year salary pay him more than how much he would make as an ESPN analyst

Now that's a good question. I have no idea.

Probably,  but I doubt that's relevant.   He wants to play football.

he wasn't working for ESPN.  He was working for SEC Network.

I'd bet that he is making more at the league minimum than he was as a color commentator on SEC Network.

Side Note: I was flipping through channels one Saturday a while back and settled on a college football game on SEC Network.  Forget who was playing but its irrelevant.  There were 3 announcers: the play by play guy, a consummate professional; the color commentator, also a pro, made great points; and another color commentator, a guy you could tell was a former player.  Immediately I recognized the "former player" guy was a total idiot who just liked to hear himself talk and wanted to show off his football knowledge by spewing random football terms that average Joe doesn't understand.

Later, I found out that former player guy was Tim Tebow, and it all made perfect sense.

He was working for ESPN. They own the SEC Network so they used him there also. Why wouldn't they? They had Tebow and they have an SEC network.
