Title: Athletes are Children
Post by: EDGECRUSHER on October 04, 2015, 01:16:07 pm
Especially football players. They are not adults, they are gigantic children that need parenting. This is why Roided out Millionaires in their 30's will quit on a game or a whole season even though it makes no sense. They need leadership and to be kept in check. This very team with Rex Ryan at the helm is 3-1 at worst. Maybe not a championship side, but definitely not this tragedy unfolding before our eyes.

You keep Philbin the rest of the year, and we are 3-13. Which, is fine by me because it gives us a good draft pick and we all gave up hope for this year anyway. 3-13 is better than 8-8. You fire him now and perhaps you wake this team up. If not? New coach in the offseason anyway. Don't be afraid to hold onto garbage, throw it out.

"Joe Philbin commands respect."

When did anyone ever say that about Philbin.  Now compare that to Todd Bowles, who every week you hear players around the NFL say that about him.

Rex Ryan is a rah rah guy. He can motivate talent but that begins to wear thin and weaknesses get exposed. He's not a good coach in the long term.

I think Rex's struggles come from his personnel skills or lack there of. Too defense heavy and it leads to guys like Mark Sanchez being allowed to exist on a Superbowl winning defense with not a lot of offensive weapons.

With this team, he could've done some good in the short run.

Agreed....this Defence would have been a lot better under Ryan's watch.

Rex's honeymoon is over in Buffalo already after today and their 17 penalty performance. Tyrod Taylor may look good vs bad defenses like Miami and Indy but vs good teams he sucks out loud.

The McCoy trade (not Rex's call) looks terrible. Sammy Watkins is an ordinary player.  Their best offensive player is Clay (who they had to overpay for)

Rex is NOT a good head coach. He will crash and burn in Buffalo like he did in NY. Is he better than Philbin...yes. Do I ever want him coaching Miami...F' NO!

Rex still has not had a QB who has ever been a Top 20 guy. Not Top 20 Best Player, but a Top 20 QB, which isn't saying a whole lot. Rex isn't perfect, but this Buffalo team was insanely overrated coming into the year. Even when healthy, McCoy's YPC was garbage and we all know Clay is a good tight end, nothing more. Tyrod will tear apart Miami and pad his stats with garbage time against the Pats, bit he is not Top 20 and by Week 11 we will see EJ Manuel again.
