Title: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: pondwater on October 18, 2015, 01:21:30 pm Offense looked better after the bye. The defense, well not so much, haha.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Tenshot13 on October 18, 2015, 01:37:06 pm So far so good.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: pondwater on October 18, 2015, 01:45:11 pm So far so good. We'll see. The defense is still porous. But then again Wake just got a sack.Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Fau Teixeira on October 18, 2015, 01:46:34 pm And Vernon just knocked mariota out of the game
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: disappointedyearly on October 18, 2015, 01:51:55 pm And Vernon just knocked mariota out of the game Yeah I hope he stays in, because he obviously is having trouble moving around. Vernon will probably catch a decent sized fine. Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Cathal on October 18, 2015, 01:53:20 pm How did they do in the 1st quarter? I got bad information that it started at 4 today. :(
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: pondwater on October 18, 2015, 01:55:16 pm Damn we won a challenge.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Cathal on October 18, 2015, 01:56:05 pm I'm curious off, at the end of the year, how many INTs are going to Tannehill where it was the receiver's fault.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Cathal on October 18, 2015, 01:59:29 pm Nice to see how soft the secondary is on 2nd and 20. :(
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: pondwater on October 18, 2015, 02:01:59 pm Nice to see how soft the secondary is on 2nd and 20. :( Ain't that the truth. But the front is looking a bit better with that fumble and return.Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Cathal on October 18, 2015, 02:02:06 pm Finally, some pressure! Is it Campbell's influence to just let them go and rush the passer or is it something else?
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Cathal on October 18, 2015, 02:11:17 pm Hopefully they won't relent and will keep this up. Run up the score.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Cathal on October 18, 2015, 02:14:12 pm Well, defense got soft again, letting Mariota throw all over them. That zone doesn't seem to be working.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: pondwater on October 18, 2015, 02:15:17 pm Yeah, our secondary needs to step it up a bit.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Cathal on October 18, 2015, 02:26:54 pm Holy crap! They got a 1st down with a crucial 3rd and short!
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Cathal on October 18, 2015, 02:34:25 pm Ugh, just some bad communication on offense. That's the 2nd time or so.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Tenshot13 on October 18, 2015, 02:38:47 pm Tannehill looks bad. Running game looks great. Defensive line is what we've been waiting to see all season. Grimes is getting owned. They are definitely playing harder under Cambell.

I'm curious to see how long the "playing harder under Campbell" actually lasts though.Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: disappointedyearly on October 18, 2015, 02:47:00 pm Both interceptions had Cameron involved. I wonder what is up with their chemistry. There have been a couple dropped ints though, so it could be worse. Grimes is not healthy. He is giving the WRs more room to compensate for his injury. A hurt BG is better than the 2nd string atm. Im very happy with the front 4 today, this is what the fins payed for.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: disappointedyearly on October 18, 2015, 02:48:37 pm I'm curious to see how long the "playing harder under Campbell" actually lasts though. Some of them have been playing hard the whole season "Landry, Mathews, Grimes", but I think emotion on the sidelines gives the extra push the players need (for the d-line at least). Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: pondwater on October 18, 2015, 03:07:44 pm Bout damn time!!!
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: EDGECRUSHER on October 18, 2015, 03:20:21 pm I guess Cameron Wake is enjoying the new coaching staff.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: pondwater on October 18, 2015, 03:31:12 pm Looks like we may be crumbling down the stretch. Not looking good knowing this teams history.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: disappointedyearly on October 18, 2015, 03:34:26 pm Big INT!
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: pondwater on October 18, 2015, 03:38:53 pm With a few exceptions, I'm liking the offense today.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Cathal on October 18, 2015, 03:43:13 pm How about that, using Jonas Gray on short yardage.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: pondwater on October 18, 2015, 04:03:20 pm So guys, how many games are we going to be this competitive going forward?
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Cathal on October 18, 2015, 04:07:35 pm I honestly have no idea Granted the Titans aren't an amazing team, but they crushed them, which is what we expected the Dolphins to mainly do in the beginning part of the season. If they beat the Texans next week, that would be great, simply because we have never beaten them, so maybe that'll be an omen for this year if they win. I expect them to maybe come back to Earth next week, but who knows.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: EDGECRUSHER on October 18, 2015, 04:30:52 pm Titans aren't that bad. Their previous 2 losses were by 7 points combined and we all saw them give away the game last week to Buffalo. They aren't great, but they aren't a pushover either, so this was a good win. This is what we should've done in the first 2 weeks.
I'm not hopeful for this season, but so far this proves firing Philbin was the right call. They were going to go 1-15 if he stayed on. Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: pondwater on October 18, 2015, 05:33:19 pm I just hope they can somehow patch up the secondary somewhat while keeping the rest of the unit playing how they played today.
Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: MikeO on October 18, 2015, 06:23:49 pm Nice win. Still too many penalties to beat a decent team. Tennessee is good but not great.
Next week the o-line has a real test vs JJ Watt, Wilfork, and Clowney. WR's all played well today. Pass rush was back. Secondary still blows. Next week will be a better indicator. If they back up this win with a home win vs Houston that is good and shows something. Then the changes they made are working on some level. If they go out and lose vs Houston then this was just a 1 week win vs a team that isn't great but not awful and there is nothing to get excited about Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Pappy13 on October 18, 2015, 07:41:24 pm If they go out and lose vs Houston then this was just a 1 week win vs a team that isn't great but not awful and there is nothing to get excited about I completely disagree. Yes, it's just 1 win but I think there's a LOT to be excited about. Anytime you win 38-10, I don't care who you are playing that's something to be excited about and after firing your coach you go do that, well that is something to be excited about without question. No, I don't know that it's gonna last but they played well today which is something you can't say about the first 4 weeks of the season. Even if you don't maintain it, it's a damn site better than what they were doing, so go ahead get excited. Allow it. It's a great win. The fans should enjoy it. The players should enjoy it. If you don't enjoy the wins then how are you ever going to get some momentum and some confidence built? This is how you build confidence, 1 win at a time. Yes, it's just 1 win, but it's EXACTLY what the Dolphins needed. They can build on this. Houston can be beat as well. Win another game and you're on a winning streak and everything changes for the Dolphins.Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: MikeO on October 18, 2015, 07:44:24 pm If they lose to Houston at home then have NE on the road 4 days later and another loss there.....dude there is nothing to get excited about.

That's a losers mentality and it's the type of thing that keeps this team from becoming winners. Winners always enjoy the wins because they are so hard to come by. I'm not saying go out and party like you just won the superbowl because you didn't, but don't start thinking about what a loss the following week would mean. Think about just putting one good game after another. That's all it takes to turn things around. I just said if they don't back it up with a win next week this win will be forgotten real fast. Because if we lose our next 2 games in a week (cause they play 2 in a week) and we are at 2-5...i mean are you going to look back on this win and be happy? Again, it's not like Campbell is keeping this job. If they play hard vs Houston and still lose honestly who gives a shit that they played hard? It's a results oriented league. Win games, that's all that matters. We can't heap praise on teams that "try hard" Title: Re: Live blog Miami @ Tennessee Post by: Pappy13 on October 18, 2015, 09:59:21 pm Who said don't enjoy the win. Enjoy the win. I don't mind losing as long as the team shows a desire to win. They didn't show that the first 4 weeks and really we haven't had enough of that in the 3 plus years with Philbin as the coach. They played scared to lose. You can't win in the NFL playing like that. I didn't see much of the game but I loved that Miami tried to get Tennessee to jump offside on 4th down close to the goal line even though it didn't work and they settled for the FG. I would have ran a play and went for it. What's the worst that could happen? Even if you don't make it you give them the ball inside their own 10. I got a feeling the next time we are in that situation Campbell goes for it.If they play hard vs Houston and still lose honestly who gives a shit that they played hard? It was 4th & 3 and they were hoping for half the distance on a 5 yard penalty. I'm still scratching my head a little bit. The spot would have been interesting if it would have succeeded. Still, it was nice to see any iota of trying, which was rarely seen previously this season. |
