Title: Jets @ NEP Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on October 22, 2015, 04:25:29 pm Two teams most of you hate.
If you have conceded the division but still hold out hope for a wildcard, than a NEP win would be in your best interest. OTOH, if you feel the division is still possible than you want the Jets to win. The '72 team is no doubt rooting for the Jets as other than Denver the Jets are probably the toughest team on NE's schedule. Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: MikeO on October 22, 2015, 05:37:50 pm To me the AFC Playoffs are already set. Both are going to the playoffs. If you look at the standings it's tough to see a team outside of the Top 6 teams currently breaking in to that mix. MAYBE San Diego if they get hot because they have had some hard luck loses, but that's it.
NE Cincy Denver Indy Pitt NYJ Who else in the AFC is breaking into that group. AND if the Jets win this week they all but lock up a playoff spot cause their schedule is scary easy here on out....Raiders, Jags, Texans, Titans, Bills TWICE Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: EDGECRUSHER on October 22, 2015, 06:24:55 pm I was gonna say wish we had an easy schedule like the Jets, but we did and we just blew it.

Denver is being propped up by the defense, but they have a good lead on SD so they will most likely win the division. The team that can get bumped out of that group is the Jets. Miami or SD can challenge for that last wild card spot. Not SD or Miami Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: EDGECRUSHER on October 23, 2015, 03:45:24 pm there is only a two game difference Blew it meaning we lost to the Jags, got killed against a mediocre Buffalo time and got beat down by the Jets after barely escaping the Redskins. No team will get to 10 or 11. Not SD or Miami The Jets really haven't proven they are a good team yet, mostly wins against easy teams. The wins you think are gift wrapped, could easily turn into losses. The wins you think are gift wrapped, could easily turn into losses. There entire schedule is easy teams. That's why they will get to 10 wins or more easily! Even if they get swept by NE and lose at Dallas....that's till 12-4, say they slip up TWICE vs lesser teams...not once TWICE, that's 10-6. The Jets defense is good enough and at a level to totally SHUT DOWN teams like the Titans, Jags, Raiders, the Bills TWICE, and Houston. They aren't giving up a ton of points vs those teams so the offense just has to do "just enough" and they will win games easily. Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: Tenshot13 on October 24, 2015, 09:45:57 am This is how I see the rest of the Jets season going:
7 OCT 25 1:00PMEDT * AT PATRIOTS L 8 NOV 1 4:05PMEST * AT RAIDERS W 9 NOV 8 1:00PMEST * JAGUARS W 10 NOV 12 8:25PMEST , BILLS W 11 NOV 22 1:00PMEST * AT TEXANS W 12 NOV 29 1:00PMEST * DOLPHINS L 13 DEC 6 1:00PMEST * AT GIANTS L 14 DEC 13 1:00PMEST * TITANS W 15 DEC 19 8:25PMEST , AT COWBOYS L 16 DEC 27 1:00PMEST * PATRIOTS L 17 JAN 3 1:00PMEST * AT BILLS W Which would put them at 10-6. What I'm HOPING will happen is one of these up and coming QBs (Carr, Bortles, Mariotta) has a career day and plays the spoiler. It's definitely not probable, but I'll still hold out a little hope. Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on October 24, 2015, 11:28:51 am If New England wins tomorrow, there is a possibility that comes week 17 Miami will be playing for the final wildcard spot and NEP will have already clinched.
Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on October 25, 2015, 05:30:26 pm Jets lose, steelers lose, mia wins. Fish are in the hunt
Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: EDGECRUSHER on October 25, 2015, 07:27:15 pm Miami needs to win on Thursday and beat the reeling Bills in Week 9. Then, they are in the hunt. Never take anything for granted with Miami.

MAYBE San Diego if they get hot because they have had some hard luck loses, but that's it. NE Cincy Denver Indy Pitt NYJ Pittsburgh lost Pouncey today...not a lock to make playoffs with all those injuries. Jets have Fitzpatrick, who seems to always get worse as the season goes along, case in point today, going up the middle to Decker with 11 seconds left and no timeouts. San Diego, a mess...defense horrible. Fins win Thursday and we get in the drivers seat for that wild card birth... Too bad a division winner is guaranteed a spot, because Indy are a disaster! Who else in the AFC is breaking into that group. AND if the Jets win this week they all but lock up a playoff spot cause their schedule is scary easy here on out....Raiders, Jags, Texans, Titans, Bills TWICE Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: MikeO on October 26, 2015, 10:04:25 am Miami needs to win on Thursday and beat the reeling Bills in Week 9. Then, they are in the hunt. Never take anything for granted with Miami. 3 road games coming up, Fins MUST win 2 of the next 3 to seriously think about the playoffs Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: Tenshot13 on October 26, 2015, 10:37:52 am 8 OCT 29 8:25PMEDT * , AT PATRIOTS
9 NOV 8 1:00PMEST * AT BILLS 10 NOV 15 1:00PMEST * AT EAGLES 11 NOV 22 1:00PMEST ) COWBOYS 12 NOV 29 1:00PMEST * AT JETS 13 DEC 6 1:00PMEST * RAVENS 14 DEC 14 8:30PMEST + GIANTS 15 DEC 20 4:25PMEST * AT CHARGERS 16 DEC 27 1:00PMEST * COLTS 17 JAN 3 1:00PMEST * PATRIOTS I think we can split with the Pats. Bills are looking bad now. Eagles are very hot and cold. Cowboys are still without Romo. Jets will be tough. Ravens are beatable. Giants will be tough. Chargers will be tough. Colts aren't as good as their record states. I think MIA is on schedule for a 9-7 season. If they keep playing like they have the past two games, they could pull out a couple of wins on those tough teams coming up. That's 10-6/11-5 and probably good enough for a WC. If they can play the Patriots competitively, even if they lose, I think it will be a nice gauge on how good MIA really is. Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on October 26, 2015, 04:44:42 pm I think we can split with the Pats. I agree. NEPs win Thursday in a competitive game that goes to the fourth quarter. MIA wins week 17 in a game that is meaningful for the Dolphins but NEP have already clinched. Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: masterfins on October 26, 2015, 06:33:41 pm Miami can sweep the Pats this year! Now that NE is playing with fully inflated balls they had quite a few dropped balls this past week with the slightly colder weather. Got me thinking maybe Brady wasn't the one that had the balls deflated, it was probably Edelman.
Title: Re: Jets @ NEP Post by: Denver_Bronco on October 29, 2015, 12:46:03 am What planet are some of you on? Miami cant evem beat Jacksonville. And New England does not take weeks off whether they are 8-8 or 15-0 with nothing to play for. Their starters will be right out there.
Miami limps to 8-8 at best.... |
