Title: I am shocked at this story in more ways than one
Post by: Phishfan on February 03, 2016, 10:53:56 am
There is news today that Denver's punter has a newborn baby, less than two weeks, and the NFL is forcing him to purchase a full price ticket for his baby to attend the Super Bowl.

First, the NFL is a money grubbing heartless entity. Seriously, full price for a baby that won't understand, enjoy, or remember the experience?

Second, a less than two week old baby has no business at the Super Bowl. I know this is a big event for you but family comes first and this is exposure a newborn doesn't need.

I'm not sure which part of the story I find worse.

I agree on both points.

I agree the NFL is being greedy, money grubbing, and his reasons for bringing the kid....Ehhh...the Kodak moment. :P

I know this is a stupid question, but I assume he's buying a ticket for his wife? Or are they comping his wife, but charging for the kid. I'm not sure how the regular season/playoffs are,but is there Players wife section, that get comped by the team.If so is he buying them tickets near the front row,or somewhere different than everyone else?

The whole thing stinks......I agree on not bringing a newborn to a football game of any sort but I know with the Cardinals if you are bringing a child under a certain age you do not have to purchase a seat if they stay in your lap the entire game. Obviously probably wouldn't apply to a squirmy toddler but for an infant I am sure someone would be holding them the entire time.
