Title: Prepare to be shocked: Richie Incognito is on the Trump Train
Post by: Spider-Dan on October 06, 2016, 06:47:29 pm
In the category of least surprising news of all time, former Miami Dolphin and current Buffalo Bill Richie Incognito is a supporter of Donald Trump.  From a recent article (http://thelab.bleacherreport.com/who-is-richie-incognito/):

"Support a candidate unlike anything this country has ever seen, and you'll certainly be known for that, too. First, Incognito cites Donald Trump's business background and negotiating skills.

"I think that he can help this nation get back to a world superpower," Incognito says. "Where I think he could help is putting us first again and having that—it's my mentality, too—having that tough attitude where you put America first and everyone's thinking we're the greatest nation in the world. Don't mess with America. That toughness is where I identify with him."

He can sense you fuming while reading this.

Let him explain.

"He'll say something because in the moment he feels it. In the moment he feels that to be true and the best thing said. With politicians, everything is so rehearsed that when they say something like that, it's derived from a script and all their words and actions have to back that up. Now, Donald may say something crazy and go out on a limb, like a normal person, and he has to backtrack and make amends and change his views.

"I think that's life. There's no such thing as an absolute."

Which is why Incognito identifies with Trump."

---

Like him or hate him, I think we can all agree this was a foregone conclusion.  There's no way that Richie Incognito would not be a Trump supporter.

^^^ At this point, a vote for Johnson is the same thing as a vote for Trump...

I don't really care if Incognito is on the Trump Train or not, but I sure wish he was still on the Dolphins offensive line.

Incognito has been a scumbag for almost the entirety of his NFL career.  The Dolphins weren't the first team to get rid of him for his antics.

He was gotten rid of because an accumulation of things. The Martin fiasco (regardless of what you think of Martin) was just the last straw.

I definitely don't disagree with you on that.  But there is no shortage of scumbags on NFL rosters.

Well, it's one thing if you're a scumbag and your team is winning.  But given that the Dolphins were not playing well enough to excuse such behavior, Incognito had to go.

That's a good point.  Winning makes jackasses a lot more tolerable.  And don't get me wrong, I'm not a big fan of Incognito.  I'm just tired of watching a horrible OL year after year.

If you're winning, you talk about winning.  If you're losing, you talk about people's character, so crap rises to the surface.

Thinking again about this on my way to work this morning, this is just another example of Philbin's reverse-Midas touch.  Had Philbin been at all interested in coaching his team, Bullygate need never have happened.  Instead, Philbin was busy picking litter off the field and tracking bathroom breaks.
