Title: Reggie Bush - Odd Stat
Post by: masterfins on December 28, 2016, 02:57:56 pm
With one week to go in the season former Dolphin Reggie Bush is looking at becoming the 1st player ever to have negative rushing yards for RB's with more than 10 attempts.  He currently has 12 carries for negative 2 yards, with 1 TD.  I always liked Reggie, hopefully he'll have a big game against the Jets to end the season, or perhaps his career.

Or at least 3 yards.

Bush has had a very intersting career.  I'm surprised he's still in the league.  But he went from being the next big thing, to being an interesting utility guy, to being sort of a specialist.

He had a couple good years, won a Super Bowl...it's been a nice career, but nothing great. He will be remembered more as a College football legend than an NFL player.

I'm sure he has made a fair share of money (both in college at USC and in the NFL.) If he didn't piss it all away he should have a comfortable life.

The thing I mostly remember him for is getting lit up by Sheldon Brown on a flats pass.

The thing I remember the most about Reggie was how ridiculously fast he was compared to the defenders when he played at USC. He literally made people look like they were moving in slow-mo.

The thing I remember most about Bush is the draft.  He was the most sure-fire #1 pick that I can remember, to Houston.  And he was a Texas guy, so it was a big deal.  And they took Mario Williams and nobody could believe it.  Turned out to be a good, but ballsy choice.

You are thinking of Vince Young, who won a national championship at Texas (against Bush and the Trojans); Vince Young went #3 overall to the Titans.

Reggie Bush grew up in San Diego and went to USC.  He has nothing to do with Texas.

Still, all the draft experts were predicting Bush as the top pick and the Texans surprised everyone.

Meanwhile NEP set a record for fewest interceptions by a team in the regular season.

Yeah looks like Reggie didn't even get a chance to run the ball on Sunday.

Yeah, for a profession where 5 years is a long career and turnover for those who aren't performing highly get moved out quickly, Reggie certainly got the most out of his career.  If not by performance, at least in longevity.

You're right.
