Title: Dolphins vs Falcons
Post by: hordman on October 13, 2017, 12:44:01 pm
I see where ATL has moved up from a 9pt to 12.5pt favorite vs the Phins this week.

Most, if not all are not giving the Phins any shot this week and for good reason.  A chance to win to win this is gonna come down to the execution & performance of the O-Line yet again.  Yes, Cutler has not performed at a level fans would like, but to be honest, he along with Ajayi have not had the time or the holes to run thru

Many a play called has defenders either in the face of Cutler or hands grabbing at Ajayi.  Ajayi has been running hard and mad it seems as though at times and you can sense his frustration.  This offense, for now, needs to run thru him.  Setup the pass with the run game.  Walk those safeties up to the line to stop Ajayi and then hit them with the pass.  This will allow for the passing game to get a little more vertical than it has been in recent weeks.

The O-Line needs to punish people.  Now, whether the coaching of Foerster lead to a decline or loss of focus, who knows, but my guess is it didn't help.  If I'm on that O-Line, I'm coming out this week to prove people wrong.

We'll see who steps up

We're gonna get treated like 3rd grader being bullied by a 5th grader our lunch money taken, and our arse beat this week. :-\

Our defense played really good against a back up QB,with their best o-lineman getting hurt during the game.

There have been plenty of upsets this season, now it's the Dolphins' turn.  Atlanta looks past the Dolphins and loses.

ATL  17

Miami  18

I can't say that we're going to outright win or even give a points prediction. However, I will say that I would take the Phins and the 12.5pts. That's the best I can muster up at this point with this damn team ;D

Well, honestly not gonna offer a prediction here (just can't bring myself to do it!!!  Don't call me DF4L, though, I know I won't be hexin' our boys either way.   ;) ), BUT I did want to say that I'll be at this damn game Sunday!!!  So pumped, even with the abysmal truly *offensive* play we've exhibited so far (but I don't care what anyone says about back up this, back up that on the other team--our defense looks f'n' good right now!!).

My prediction is that our offense will finally somehow be *better*, even if still not on any Rock Star level (gotta learn to crawl before you can walk and then run), and that our defense will find a way to keep us in it much more than expected.  Rather that will result in us actually being able to pull it out in the end, I can't really say, but we've seen how tough this crew of guys is since week 6 of last season, and I honestly think the grittiness is just as much there if not moreso this season, so what I'm really trying to say is that "(so you're telling me) there's a chance?!?!?"   ;D

GO 'PHINS!!!!!

Know I'm immediately quoting myself here, so don't think I'm too crazy...  :D.  Just thought about it after I posted and wanted to say that even with the comment about playing other team's backups at critical positions (because that's just the NFL!  Look at our team last year and, to a lesser extent [and hopefully it stays that way!!], this season) not affecting my overall impressed opinion of the new look D--I wanted to say that you're still the man, B!  Don't want to go offending you, I know you do "good work", B.   :)

Even though I rarely post here anymore, I view the boards all the time still, in particular during the season.

Atlanta is the better team.  They had an extra week to prepare for the game, they are at home, if the Falcons come in firing on all cylinders they should win the game by 20+ points and there is nothing the fins can do to stop them.

However Miami could win this game, next week Atl travels to Foxboro.  Every player has that week circled on his calendar.  If the Falcons are looking past Miami and at going into New England for revenge then Mia has a shot.

I like Miami's chances at limiting the Falcons on offense, but with no offensive touchdowns in the first half yet this season, how do you win a game?

The Falcons do have one of the weakest offensive lines the Fins will match up against this year, at least going by how things are looking right now. The pass rush is okay, but they haven't been able to stop the run and I really like Ajayi's chances at a good game if the Dolphins can keep it reasonably close.

While this game certainly could get away from us very quickly, I really do think this is an obvious upset candidate. It's going to take a bit of luck, sure, but there are some pretty good matchups that the Dolphins could exploit and I really think the pass defense is looking a whole lot better with Timmons sniffing out any crossing routes or trickery close to the line of scrimmage.

Miami: 21
Atlanta: 17

I was bitching and moaning as well when the 1st half ended.  It's like the teams switched uniforms before they came out for the 2nd half. I'd gladly eat crow as well. Cheers

I'm perfectly fine with making Smokin' Jay making me eat crow each week.  If I need to talk shit about him for us to win, then I can fall on that grenade.
