Title: What should Miami's new starting lineup look like? Esp. at WR
Post by: Alwaysdullfan on July 29, 2018, 12:56:10 am

--Who do you guys thing should be a starter on offense this season coming up, when it comes to WRs??

Personally I think Miami panicked a lil bit when Landry left and quickly brought in Amendola and Albert Wilson. I would be perfectly fine with Miami just moving Jakeem Grant to slot and problem solved. Especially since they drafted 2 TEs, and currently have 6 on the roster. I'm sure 3 TEs will be active for every game and maybe 4th one on practice squad. But with weapons like Gesicki, AJ Derby, Parker, Stills and bunch of youngsters I think they didn't have to sign both of the receivers. If anything one and that's it.
I understand adding depth, but they would have had depth even without signing those 2 WRs.
But...since they have their major guys under contracts on offense/defense, they figured lets bring some guys in but someone might get cut or traded before the season starts, who knows. They must have a plan in place bcuz it doesn't make sense holding onto receivers that ur paying; $10mil, $8mil, $8mil. and $6mil (Amendola) since you wont even be able to play all of them together much. Esp. with J. Grant and the best Gesicki.

What do you guys think about the whole WR/TE situation?

I think Parker and Stills are locked in at 1 and 2.  Slot on 3 WR sets will be Gase playing Chess.  Amendola for clutch first downs, Wilson will be simular to the types of plays Landy was doing, Gesicki for mismatches when out wide, Grant for things like end arounds and screens.  I think you'll see mostly Wilson and Amendola in the slot.  We'll likely be playing a lot of single RB 3 WR sets with 2 TE.

Personally I think it's a good problem to have.  There is so much physical talent and speed for the WRs.  Tannehill is good at spreading the ball around.

Who do you plan to take off the field? You still need to account for a qb and 5 linemen.

We're going back to the Wildcat so it's OK.
