Title: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: DaLittle B on October 02, 2018, 04:09:28 pm https://twitter.com/ArmandoSalguero/status/1047215665248124929 (https://twitter.com/ArmandoSalguero/status/1047215665248124929)
Via Armando Salguero The Miami Dolphins are cutting Jordan Phillips, per source. So this is an improvement for our Run Defense? ??? <-- (Rhetorical) More from Barry Jackson https://twitter.com/flasportsbuzz/status/1047217145178939393 (https://twitter.com/flasportsbuzz/status/1047217145178939393) Dolphins have now moved on from players they grew tired of after their biggest losses (Ajayi after Baltimore debacle and Phillips after Patriots debacle). A trend! He apparently was pissed on the sideline, and had to be calmed down on the sideline by teamates?...I got the game switched, and wasn't able to see most of the 2nd half... Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: masterfins on October 03, 2018, 01:00:05 am WHY are the Dolphins cutting guys after week #4, that have been on the team for years?
Already reeling from injuries yet we cut a guy?? Where any efforts made to trade him?? The thing that really irks me is why did he even make the 53 man roster to start the season if they are going to cut him four games in? I don't know of any team that repeatedly does this year after year. Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: Fau Teixeira on October 03, 2018, 09:35:49 am If a guy is throwing a tantrum on the sideline and being disruptive to the team .. cut his ass then and there.
There isn't room for this kind of unprofessional behavior. If i was in a design meeting, or a customer conference, and one of my employees started screaming and yelling at the customers or co-workers and had to be held back by other people from going after his boss, guess what .. he'd be canned on the spot. Why is the nfl any different? We cares about his "talent" or whatever, build the team the right way, build it with the right people, stop trying to short circuit the development of a good team by ignoring character and professionalism. Do ti the right way and success will follow. Keep trying to jam assholes into your team just because they have "talent" and you'll end up as the browns or the .. dolphins. Give Gase a 10 year contract extension, have some consistency in the front-office .. build the team the right way. if you're confused about what this looks like at a professional level, look at the miami heat, that's what they do. They're competitive, they win titles. They're a joy to follow even when they aren't the most talented. Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: BigDaddyFin on October 03, 2018, 09:58:39 am Better to cut him now and get it over with. This is one of the things I was afraid of even though I was relatively happy with the draft.
We're having issues already on the Offensive and Defensive lines between poor play and injuries. Better to cut him and get someone off waivers or pick up a UFA to take his place now and get it over with. Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: CF DolFan on October 03, 2018, 10:04:03 am Phillps was upset that Channing Crowder and other radio guys were calling him out in the preseason so he had words with them. I remember thinking that either he'd blow up and do well to prove them wrong or implode. Looks like the latter happened.
As far as I know ... Pringles hasn't responded to their criticism but I expect he will be gone after this season. Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: DaLittle B on October 03, 2018, 12:08:41 pm Cameron wolf of Espn tweeted out last night we've been trying to trade him for a week,so it was before the sideline tantrum...

Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: CF DolFan on October 03, 2018, 01:50:18 pm ^^^^The good thing is that seems to be getting better.
Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: DaLittle B on October 03, 2018, 02:41:52 pm ^I'm not ready to go there,at all. :-X
IMO L.Tunsil,C.Harris (losing snaps to Woodard last week),K.Drake (very disappointing so far this year),Tankersley,Smythe,Ballage add the guy's that are hanging on via the practice squad...Asiata,Caroo,Vincent taylor just called up. WHILE STILL EARLY,none of these guy's are looking like they're a lock whatsoever to get a 2nd contract... I forgot R.Jones in 2010 :-[ Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: masterfins on October 03, 2018, 02:52:06 pm Cameron wolf of Espn tweeted out last night we've been trying to trade him for a week,so it was before the sideline tantrum... https://www.profootballrumors.com/2018/10/dolphins-cut-dt-jordan-phillips (https://www.profootballrumors.com/2018/10/dolphins-cut-dt-jordan-phillips) With Phillips being cut they made another point about our drafts,I wish I could find the tweet,it's along the lines..How few guy's on the team that were drafted by the Dolphins for before 2016...'12 Tannehill,'14 J.James + W.Aiken,'15 D.Parker +B.Mccain... Well it's not just the Dolphins. Over the past decade the average career of NFL players has fallen from 5 years to just over 3 years. Teams are moving on from players once their rookie contracts are up, and only the stud players are resigned or picked up in free agency. Look at Le'veon Bell, he's one of the best players in the NFL and the Steelers have franchise tagged him two years in a row; teams just don't want to give long term contracts to players after five years (the exception being QB's & some WR's). Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: DaLittle B on October 03, 2018, 03:01:12 pm ^L.Bell a bad example RB's imo not a great example in general Rb's and their shelf life.....but I get that...
It was a fucking tweet,I thought made an interesting point...We're known for shitty drafting... ::) Sorry...Everytime I bring up a negative about the Dolphins you rush to defend them.... I found the tweet...Hal habib of PBpost...Take it for what you will.. https://twitter.com/gunnerhal/status/1047226806540091393 (https://twitter.com/gunnerhal/status/1047226806540091393) Dolphins drafted 15 players in 2014-15. Only four remain: Ja'Wuan James (No. 1 in '14), Walt Aikens (4b), DeVante Parker (No. 1 in '15), Bobby McCain (5a). That's all, folks. (Modified to fix error, and add tweet I referenced...) Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: Dave Gray on October 03, 2018, 03:36:48 pm So far, none of these are "Gase's guys" and he's cutting old regime dudes that didn't pan out. I'd prefer they figure this out in the offsesason, but I'm OK with it. Clear guys out once you know it's not gonna work and force yourself to move on and adapt.

Oh I get what your saying, and my point wasn't to defend the Dolphins. I just feel the current NFL isn't the NFL I grew up watching and loving. It's just all about money now, for both players and owners; the only consideration given to the fans is how much money they can make off of us. It's run like an insurance actuarial table - how much they can get away with while still generating the most income. Every single decision or rule change they make is about generating the most money. end rant. Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: DaLittle B on October 03, 2018, 05:23:47 pm ^I have no problems with your rant about the money...
Bills Claimed Jordan Phillips.... https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1047596518834929664 (https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1047596518834929664) The #Bills claimed DT Jordan Phillips, formerly of the #Dolphins, and released DT Robert Thomas. Title: Re: Dolphins Cutting Jordan Philips Post by: EDGECRUSHER on October 04, 2018, 09:54:05 pm Never ever draft a player whose downsides on draft day are "doesn't have the heart to play football".
