Title: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: CF DolFan on September 03, 2019, 04:30:03 pm I kind of find it funny that Omar gives us 5 wins when everyone else is picking less. He's usually the naysayer.
Omar Kelly, Dolphins Columnist: 5-11 The Dolphins purged their roster this offseason to become a younger team with a cheaper payroll, and that typically accompanies a losing season. Don’t expect much from this team in Year 1 of coach Brian Flores’ reign. With that said .... I say we win 3 games this year but with our luck it will probably be mediocre 8-8. Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: Pappy13 on September 03, 2019, 04:37:11 pm I had said 6 earlier, but that was before they got rid of Tunsil, Alonso and Stills. I'll change my prediction to 5, but it's soft 5 now. Maybe more realistic to say 4.
Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 03, 2019, 05:12:56 pm I am going with the one you mentioned the other day....”Miami you are on the clock”
Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: doctord56 on September 03, 2019, 05:26:55 pm I'm putting myself down for 3-13. It will be a long year without a semblance of a professional offensive line. The team will set a record for sacks allowed, the running backs will have nowhere to run without blocking, and a decent defense will run out of steam following all the three and outs. The team punter will have a sore leg from overuse.
It will be a long year. Hoping they know what to do with all those draft picks, and maybe a few of the kids, like Dieter, Wilkins, and Preston Williams, will develop into good pros. Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: Dolphster on September 03, 2019, 08:41:27 pm 4-12
Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: Downunder Dolphan on September 03, 2019, 11:01:34 pm With the lack of talent on the roster I can't see us doing better than 4-12 this year....
If we get off to a really bad start, we could easily spiral to as bad as 1-15 - If that's the case I would rather us go 0-16, I would win money on a bet I placed this week that a team would go winless in 2020 (most likely us). Ps. If we do go winless, would Flores survive? Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: EDGECRUSHER on September 04, 2019, 08:49:00 am Unfortunately, I have us going 3-13 due to Fitzpatrick having one of his patented 450 yard games that steals a win in a shootout. Rosen gets the other two against our worst opponents.
I would prefer 1-15 but we have a good secondary and a lot of players auditioning for next season so we will win a small handful. I just hope that's enough to get the #1 pick. Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: stinkfish on September 04, 2019, 10:35:45 am 4, maybe 5 wins.
Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: pondwater on September 04, 2019, 03:52:45 pm According to ESPN after 20,000 simulations. We're going 8-8 and lose the division to the Patriots in Week 17. And also the Saints win the Superbowl. Hopefully neither of these terrible predictions come true.

I don't think we are more talented than any team in the NFL except maybe the Cardinals and their rookie QB. I just assume 3 wins because it's the NFL and things happen. I just hope that's enough to get the #1 pick. I am surprized Jones is still on the list, and still expect him to be traded or cut before seasons end. Take him out of that secondary and it becomes a lot more shaky. Brady for one will have a field day, as Jones & Howard are the only guys in that bunch he is wary of. Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: Fau Teixeira on September 04, 2019, 10:50:03 pm If we go 8-8 they should rename the coach of the year award to the Brian Flores award

ESPN's 20,000 simulations have the Dolphins with 5 wins. The 8 wins is from ONE simulation run that they arbitrarily picked to show scores of every game. Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: MaineDolFan on September 05, 2019, 08:32:38 am I have absolutely no clue. Seasons when I thought Miami was devoid of talent and should have won a one or two games they pulled off close to .500 seasons. Seasons where I thought they had the talent to compete for a wildcard they couldn't get anything going at all.
This actually speaks as much to the rest of the NFL as it does Miami. Just when you think "damn, my team is the worst...no one can touch us in this area." Another city comes along and says "hold my beer." Based on how bad a lot of the rest of the league is, and how whacked out some game days can be, I can see Miami being anywhere from 1-15 to 10-6. ;) Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 05, 2019, 11:23:22 am Inaccurate. Their defense is good enough to keep them in some games. I'd say 5-11, but they let John Denney go. :D Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: pondwater on September 05, 2019, 03:28:01 pm but they let John Denney go. :D I don't care what anyone says. That was a super shitty move on the Dolphins part.Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: BuccaneerBrad on September 05, 2019, 06:47:25 pm I don't care what anyone says. That was a super shitty move on the Dolphins part. More cap space. I'm sure the vet minimum for a third year player is way less than for a 15 year player. Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 05, 2019, 07:29:36 pm More cap space. I'm sure the vet minimum for a third year player is way less than for a 15 year player. While the vet min for a 15 year vet is less than a 3rd year player there is a quirky rule that allows you to sign players with 4+ years at vet min and only a portion counts towards the salary cap. This move saves Ross cash, but not salary cap space. Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: hordman on September 05, 2019, 07:53:14 pm I don't care what anyone says. That was a super shitty move on the Dolphins part. I have to admit, I thought they were going to re-sign him, after a roster move of another player and then bring him back. Was a very bad move on their part, disappointed the way that was handled. Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: hordman on September 05, 2019, 07:55:44 pm I'm going 6-10, partly because I have a milkshake bet with my boy after Vegas came out with the Win Total of 5 earlier in the Spring.
I think they're gonna escape with a couple lucky wins, lose some heartbreakers where they played well. Like to think this team will be better prepared for most games & execute better than we've what we've come to expect. I'm not saying leaps and bounds, but you'll see less of the previous dumb mistakes/penalties Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: EDGECRUSHER on September 05, 2019, 08:29:38 pm I'm going 6-10, partly because I have a milkshake bet with my boy after Vegas came out with the Win Total of 5 earlier in the Spring. Bad snaps, blocked kicks, fumbles, and turn overs all year long >:DTitle: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: Dolphster on September 06, 2019, 11:22:24 am It probably does not bode well for the team this year in that yesterday (4 days before the opening game) when Flores was asked by a reporter if the Fins have settled on who their starting offensive line will be, responded with, "For the most part, yes." If you aren't entirely sure who your starting offensive line is going to be when you are four days out from your first game, that is a pretty good indication that this season is going to be a dumpster fire size of such enormity that the flames will be visible from Europe.

Flores is a professional troll. If MIA wins a single game, they should break out the champagne. The only real doubt I have about how terrible this team will be is that I am skeptical that Flores can even be successful at securing the #1 pick. Title: Re: 2019 Season Predictions Post by: pondwater on September 06, 2019, 11:34:06 pm I'm revising my estimate to 2-14. Short term vs long term? Now, maybe Flores is a savant at scheme adjustments, and secretly can coach Belichick under the table. At this point he basically needs to, because he is painting himself into a corner.
