I can barely stomach Facebook.  It's just mindless memes...most that don't even understand their own meta.  It's just mountains upon mountains of trash.

I don't mind the concept of memes, but they just inundate everything like a virus.  It's overwhelming.  I miss forums like this where people actually have to say things and have thoughts.  Facebook took that over for a while, but it was replaced with pictures with sayings reposted by other people over and over again.

Meme's are good for jokes but to constantly post political ones, which I see Facebook is now infested with, is boring and repetitive.

But they're not.

It's funny once, but just reposting other people's shit all the time is the worst.

I'm not even a boomer, but I want to repeatedly punch people in the face who say that "OK boomer" shit.

But I don't, because I don't hit people who don't touch me first. And it's illegal, hahaha.

Yeah, I got ya. As a gen X, I'd rather deal with boomers all day long than ever deal with a millennial. Millennials are fucking weirdos.

I'm in that weird generation between Gen X and Millennials, I like to refer to is as the Oregon Trial Generation, because I'll be damned if anyone confuses me with a Millennial.

I had to look up what OK Boomer was, I don't think I've ever seen it, but the only social media thing I do is Facebook.  For Facebook I'm sick of the damn cat vs. screaming chick meme, I assume the chick is from some dating tv show but I don't know for sure.  I missed the boomer generation by one year since I was born in '66, so I'm really not a part of any identifiable generation that I know of.

Generation Y is what we are dude. 

I'm thinking more like make up your own meme and do that only on occasion.  Case in point, when Jameis was drafted by the Bucs, I was all excited and didn't hesitate to share my excitement at work.   One of my co-workers, Cody, kept saying that Jameis was going to be a bum, that he would bust out in the NFL.   Suddenly, I got a creative idea and a wicked look on my face.  I told Cody, "You're in trouble now boy!!!"   Five minutes later, I located a picture of a skeleton sitting on a couch and meme'd it with "Cody waiting for Jameis Winston to become a bust in the NFL"

Gen Y = millennials

Gen Y is what they used to call it before the name "millennials" stuck.  The generation after millennials is currently called Gen Z for the same reason: people are lazy and unimaginative.

I was in Middle School when MTV launched. After verifying the date I was headed into 7th grade. I don't remember how they advertised the channel but I do remember it going live in our town.

I'm definitely Gen X. Born in '72, the greatest NFL year ever, haha. When MTV launched I was 9 and should have been in the 4th grade. However, my now dead absent crazy mother let me run the streets of South Florida (Hollywood, Ft. Lauderdale, Pompano, Deerfield, Boca, Delray, and Boynton) from 9-11 years old, but mostly Boca. Running the streets smoking Marlboro reds and drinking, hahaha. Therefore I was 2 years behind when I came back to MS to live with my dad in '83.

She used to drop me off every Saturday at the old Boca Mall(Mizner Park now) with $3 to entertain myself. But I had 3-4 friends like me that would all roam the mall and steal shit from the Jefferson Ward and sneak into the movies and watch them all while smoking a pack. Back then you could smoke a whole pack at the movies at 10 years old and no one said shit. I lived behind the the old Boca mall. From Google maps it looks like all those old 50's ranch houses have been torn down to build McMansions. Anyhow, I am gen X. I am a cynical asshole. And even though it's has probably negatively affected me. I wouldn't change anything about my childhood for the world, I had a shitload of fun...

yep ... I was in my mid to late 20's as the internet got popular so it wasn't so foreign as I tried it. I'd hate to have been much older as I'm not so sure how much I would have understood.  I remember at the time people saying my generation had the advantage over the older people as were weren't afraid to make mistakes and thus learned much faster.

Memes are meaningless crap. We all saw Shakira's tongue. I spoke about it with real people I was with.

I skipped the entire halftime show. Neither J-Lo or Shakira are on my musical watch list.

They are fully aware you aren't a "baby boomer."  "Ok boomer" and baby boomers = completely different things.  Any generation can fall into the "ok boomer" category.

I don't think that I've ever had anyone say "OK boomer" to me. It seems that the only people that use the phrase are people born after Gen X that think their opinion is the ONLY valid opinion. I put it in the same category as when you're stating your opinion and make a good point and someone says, "Whatever". To me, if all you can come up with is a dismissive canned reply, that means you automatically lose the argument.

It started with hate towards baby boomers, because the new generation really hates baby boomers, they blame them for everything.  Now it's just a way of calling someone old.
