BB has the attitude it is better to let someone go a year too early than a year two late. But players are typically on the downward side of their career. At least Flores already knows Van Noy so hopefully everything works out. If history is any indication, odds are most Dolphin fans will be thrilled with this signing at the end of 2020. Still happy at end of 2021, but no longer super thrilled. And want him cut at the end of 2022. After the 3rd year, they can cut him if they want but he will only be 32 years old so he can still perform at the time. Or, restructure the contract. NFL contracts require a calculus degree to figure out sometimes. |
