He says that Denver reached out to him but they got the impression he was leaning towards calling it quits. I don't believe that for a second. I know he liked it in Miami but he has been playing great football and with so many QB needy teams, especially good teams without a QB, I find it hard to believe that he would retire.

Pats need a QB and if they trade for Jimmy G like has been rumored, then the Niners need a QB. Colts need one, Bears need one. Lots of good or solid teams need a QB and he can take them to the playoffs. It would be a shame if he retired now.

He is what he has always been.  Fitzmagic one week and Fitztragic the next week.  I talked with a few friends that played football in high school and know a few South Florida based NFL players.  They said that a player can feel fine one week and so messed up the next.  That's why guys like Andrew Luck and Vontae Davis retired the way they did.  It all depends on how Fitz feels.  I, personally would love to have him as the backup one more year in case Tua isn't up to snuff and we need another year of Tagovipatrick.

The Chiefs should sign him so he can be on a playoff team.  They owe him big time for what he did in 2019.

Why would the Chiefs owe Fitzpatrick anything for 2019?  NE lost to the Titans at home.

It was Fitzmagic's touchdown pass and victory over NE week 17 that gave the Chiefs a bye.  This forced NE to play in the wild card round.

Also, it led to Brady leaving NE.

I think Pittsburgh would be a great stop for Fitz.  They signed Rothlesbierger for another season, and there's no way he'll make it through unscathed, so Fitz could earn a nice paycheck and get some good stats added on.

First I'd love to see Fitzy stay put. If not that, then I'd like to see him sign with the Patsies just for the novelty of being on every AFC East roster.

A lot of his posts qualify as convoluted BS, but I will give him credit for this one.  He is right on the money here.  The Chiefs do owe Fitzpatrick for beating New England in week 17 and vaulting them to the #2 seed.

Again: NE lost at home.  Whether you lose at home in the Wild Card round or in the conference championship, a loss is a loss.

By your logic, PHI owes Marcus Mariota for their 2017 championship, because he beat KC in the Wild Card round and KC had beaten both NE & PHI earlier that season.  It's nonsense.

The bye means you get a divisional round playoff game at home.  NE lost at home anyway.
Whether NE loses to TEN at home in the Wild Card round, or loses to TEN at home in the conference championship, it doesn't make much difference.

  So, then why were Chiefs fans celebrating the bye? 

The bye is huge for teams.  The Patriots have never won a Championship without one.  In the six team format, the Giants were the most recent team to win the championship without one.   That was eight years ago.   

Fitz's family lives in Tampa and his wife and kids would come visit him in their 12 passenger van on game days and he would visit them on his days off. He did say he didn't want to uproot them again so he may not sign again too far away.

Probably looking at a backup job then. He would be a nice mentor for Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville. Plenty of realistic starting gigs for him but if family and location are the most important then it's a backup gig.
