LOL, thanks for the chuckle.  While I'm glad for the win, even happier that SF lost cause we got their pick in the draft.  Need them to lose even more

For the record, would give a game ball to the Def overall for 4 TO's and less than 300 yds of total Offense

Not looking for this beatdown come Thursday in Prime Time

Defense gets the game ball. Tyrod was awful and the Texans are garbage but we've faced awful teams before and given up a lot more offense.

HM specifically to Baker for that sweet INT.

Tyrod Taylor, without his stellar performance as QB the fins may have lost the game.

HM to the Defense who shut down the Texans Offense.

If I could give the game ball to the Texans' o-line... wow, they are bad.

I'll give my game ball to the receivers for actually catching balls today. The talking heads (for the third game in a row) claimed the Dolphins had the most dropped passes in the league*, but there were some great catches yesterday. Since the official Game Ball Rules (tm) require the selection of a single person, I'll go with Gesicki.

* Dropped passes as a stat are a joke. The variation between sources is ridiculous. The stats available online place the Dolphins in the top third in drops, but not anywhere near #1. I remember a Tannehill game some years ago where I counted 4 dropped passes. After reviewing them numerous times, I guess you could have argued with one of them. SIS (who provides stats to the likes of ESPN) listed exactly ZERO dropped passes that game.

I came away with the opposite thought.  Aside from Gesecki, who made two circus catches, we couldn't hold on to the ball today.  We dropped several key passes that killed drives.  We're so used to it that I think we're blind to how many yards a game we give up with easily dropped balls.

Our offense is non-functional.  We had 4 turnovers and still could only score 17 points against one of the worst teams in the league.  Everything about our offense is pathetic.

The defense was pretty stellar today.

All that said, as an individual player, I think I have to give my game ball to Gesecki.  The guy was making plays, but also I think he had a lot of fire in him and was motivating.  The rest of the offense couldn't do anything.

It was 5 turnovers.

I read somewhere that the last team to win with 5 turnovers featured Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback. It was also the first time in over 30 years that the Dolphins managed to win with 5+ turnovers.

No, I mean our defense GOT 4 turnovers...gave our offense the ball an additional 4 times with field position -- we still scored 17.

The Dolphins created 4 turnovers and came up with 17 points total. That's his point.

Gesiki gets the nod.

3.6 yards per play offensively.  An abomination as usual.

This is why single wins are far from complete measures of a team, when when people say "a win is a win" or "I'll take the win" or whatever, they're actually off-base on many occasions.  A win isn't always a "win."  If you win in a way that if replicated is likely to get you beaten by every team in the league the majority of the time, you actually "lost," and it won't take long for that to show up in your won-loss record if continued.

Of the last 100 games in the league that featured a team with 5 turnovers, the team with 5 turnovers lost 91 of them.  So you have about a 9% chance of winning a game with that many turnovers.

Of course yesterday that was buttressed by the fact that the Texans had 4 turnovers themselves, however, and you're far more likely to win games with a turnover margin of just -1.

Either way, among the less random variables associated with winning, the Dolphins played horribly as usual.

Gisecki for showing off his one handed catching skills.

After viewing the NFL "highlights" package, I reckon my game ball would go to Ogbah who seemed to have a major impact in just about every key defensive play. Holland deserves a honorable mention for a great game (apart from that return fumble).

Other Honorable mentions to Waddle and Gisecki (and I also really enjoyed Hollins TD catch, and Smythe's wicked block that got Gaskin in the end zone)
