Title: Re: Football is back!! Rookies report on Tuesday 7-19 Post by: dolphins4life on July 19, 2022, 06:02:43 pm How is the Florida heat? In MA, we're in the middle of a HORRID heat wave. We are also in the middle of a severe drought, which was slightly relived by some rain yesterday
Title: Re: Football is back!! Rookies report on Tuesday 7-19 Post by: stinkfish on July 19, 2022, 07:15:34 pm I take this news as good and bad. Always happy the closer we get to football season, but it reminds me that summer goes when football starts. And the heat wave is not horrid. This is my kind of weather 90’s and humid. Let’s Goooo!!!
Title: Re: Football is back!! Rookies report on Tuesday 7-19 Post by: ArtieChokePhin on July 19, 2022, 07:29:12 pm Glad to see it back. Now I've got something to watch other than baseball.

We are also in the middle of a severe drought, which was slightly relived by some rain yesterday Water is wet, Florida is hot. Nothing changes. Only a person named stinkfish would enjoy 90s and humid. I can't wait for the weather to break because I want to go camping. Title: Re: Football is back!! Rookies report on Tuesday 7-19 Post by: stinkfish on July 19, 2022, 09:59:20 pm Haha Phishfan. Come up to the White Mountains for some camping. I’ve camped down South at a couple of places and it just isn’t quite right. I actually camped in Miami at a place called oletta River State Park, or something like that. It was um, different.

Title: Re: Football is back!! Rookies report on Tuesday 7-19 Post by: CF DolFan on July 20, 2022, 03:46:19 pm Water is wet, Florida is hot. Nothing changes. Haha ... I don't camp in Florida unless it's winter. Too freaking humid for me. The heat hasn't bothered me much as like you said ... Florida is hot. I don't mind sweating unless I'm in a place where I shouldn't be like out for dinner or in an office. For any outside activity I pretty much expect it. Only a person named stinkfish would enjoy 90s and humid. I can't wait for the weather to break because I want to go camping. Title: Re: Football is back!! We are also in the middle of a severe drought, which was slightly relived by some rain yesterday It is ungodly, like getting warnings on your phone not to go outside, hot. I've been getting out a yard a little bit in the morning around 8 and it's so ungodly that I can't be out there. I don't think it would be safe to practice in it. Title: Re: Football is back!! I don't think it would be safe to practice in it. That's why Saban demanded that the practice bubble be built. And new studies have shown that working in the heat really doesn't give you an advantage like working in the cold does. Title: Re: Football is back!! Rookies report on Tuesday 7-19 Post by: CF DolFan on July 21, 2022, 01:33:40 pm It is ungodly, like getting warnings on your phone not to go outside, hot. You have to prepare yourself for it. People work out in it like 10-12 hours a day with no issue. Many even wear long shirts which will always baffle me. I tried and can't do it. It's the person who comes out of the AC and lives dehydraded that has the problems. You have to hydrate yourself prior to going out and that can't start just before you go outside. The less hydrated you are the more it drains you. Just ask visiting teams. In my old HOA many "office workers" would spend much of the weekend outside taking care of their yards so it can be done by the average person. Rookies report on Tuesday 7-19 Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on July 21, 2022, 04:21:50 pm What is worse for Florida is not that Florida is hot but that Greenland is. Once all the ice on Greenland melts the oceans rise 21 feet. That wipes out a good chunk of Florida. Less than half of that and Miami doesn't exist anymore.

And yet people keep moving here by the millions. Maybe you should do a better job of warning them? Title: Re: Football is back!! Rookies report on Tuesday 7-19 Post by: CF DolFan on July 25, 2022, 03:10:37 pm Raheem Mostert posted on Twitter that he’s been fully cleared physically ahead of the official start to Dolphins camp tomorrow. Let's hope that is a good sign for the running game.
Title: Re: Football is back!! Rookies report on Tuesday 7-19 Post by: Sunstroke on July 25, 2022, 05:29:37 pm ^^^ No disrespect to Raheem "Spicy Brown" Mostert, but if I had a dollar for every time I heard Mostert, or someone around him, say how healthy he is, or how he's in the best shape of his life...I'd have a stack of dollars. I hope he's right - this time - but I wouldn't hold my breath. Title: Re: Football is back!! Yeah, any positives from him this year will be a bonus, nothing should be counted on and I think the team agrees, which is why we got so many other RBs. Title: Re: Football is back!! I'd love to see him kick some ass for Miami this year. Title: Re: Football is back!! Rookies report on Tuesday 7-19 Post by: Tenshot13 on July 26, 2022, 03:18:18 pm Mostert isn't called "Mosthurt" for no reason. When he's healthy he's a deadly weapon, but dude is never healthy.

When he's healthy he's a deadly weapon, but dude is never healthy. Yeah, but man, oh man, you've got to love the guy's heart. Before he finally caught on with SF, the dude tried out and got cut by sooooo many teams, and he just kept after it until he finally made it. That's the kind of character I like to cheer for. |
