Title: Good radio station for Dolphins coverage?
Post by: Spider-Dan on August 01, 2022, 04:27:00 am
For any South Florida locals:

I have plenty of options to listen to local sports talk radio and hear my fill of coverage about NorCal teams, but it recently occurred to me that, just as my local stations offer the ability to listen live over the internet, Miami sports radio likely offers the same.  So what radio station(s) in Miami are a good bet to listen to for Dolphins coverage?  Any particular time of day that good local sports shows are on?

790 the ticket is the local espn radio station - https://www.audacy.com/theticketmiami
560 wqam is the non-espn sports talk station - https://www.audacy.com/wqam

I agree with Fau.  790 The Ticket or 560 WQAM are your best options.

I listen on audacy and 560 wqam is the most Dolphins station there is. They are also the one to broadcast the games and their pre-game show is typically good. Joe Rose (6am) in the morning and Channing Crowder in the afternoon (2-6pm). 10 am -2 pm is typically Heat basketball although he will mix in some football stuff. I like to go back and listen to their podcasts if I miss that days show.

Immediately after the game, it's fun to listen to whatever of these isn't the official carrier of the game, so they're not bound to the postgame coverage.  They basically just take call from drunk idiots in their cars.  It's like all the cold-takes from this website, sprinkled with 6 hours of drinking in the sun and put on the radio with a grumpy host dismissing the bad opinions.

Fun times.  It's gotten me through many a long ride home from the stadium.
