Title: Dolphins intend to sign Trey Flowers
Post by: hordman on August 29, 2022, 08:59:15 am
The Miami Dolphins are signing Flowers to a one-year deal worth $2.1 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday, per a source. Rapoport adds that Flowers has a chance to earn up to $3 million with incentives.

The signing comes after Flowers worked out for Miami earlier this week.

We'll see how long this lasts.  Guy has been oft-injured the last 2 seasons Former Patriot who's familiar with defensive coordinator Josh Boyer's scheme.

Guy skips training camp and then gets a gig.  The deal might be up to 2.1M, but I'm sure there's a caveat that they can unload him with minimal $$$ invested.

Hope he works out, but won't hold my breath.

Originally thought he was going to be a replacement for an njured Van Ginkel but it's been revealed he had an apendectomy and will be back by the first or second game. This could be a one game signing to someone familiar with the defense just to give Andrew more time to recover.

That sounds smart on their part.  They kick the tires and he performs well while Van Gikel heals, then they have an extra man to step up.

Veterans (4 years) signed before week 1 have their salary fully guaranteed if they are on the roster for game 1, so a one-game signing was never really possible (for week 1, anyway).
