Title: 2023 Proposal
Post by: dolphins4life on January 17, 2023, 09:25:15 pm
Sign Brady for one year.

Give Tua the year off to recover from his injuries

Bring him back for his fifth year in 2024

Never happen, even if Brady takes just $10 Million for the season.

More than likely, he goes to a team like the Titans who have some pieces but could use elite QB play to put them over the top. Their rookie Malik can understudy a year under Brady and Tanny would get a starting gig elsewhere, like Atlanta or Washington.

The Raiders seem like a good fit for Brady.

No thanks on Brady.

I don't want to root against this guy for his whole career, just to cheer for him for one year and get embarrassed at home in the first round before he's sent to the retirement home.

Also, our QB is better than Brady.  I'd rather start the better player.  Brady ain't coming in here to backup Tua.

Nope. I’m out if TB comes to town, at least for his duration, maybe permanently.

They're another solid option, although Josh McDaniels has proven himself once again to be a terrible head coach and the division is tough. Ideally, Tennessee is the best bet. Weak division and a solid team.

Not sure if I agree.  I think Brady would do great here throwing to Hill and Waddle.  And Remember, Brady makes his defenses play better, so adding him would improve our defense, too.

Tua isn't going to last much longer in the league. It's possible he could retire before Brady

Just curious, is not wanting Brady here because of personal dislike of him, or because you don't think he's a good player anymore?

If you go with Brady next year, you say goodbye to Tua. I don't want to get rid of our potential franchise QB for a one year gamble on a Superbowl. Besides, one of these days he will act his age and play poorly. It happens quickly too, no warning.

Primarily a personal dislike but he, to use your terms, IS FINISHED. He’s old and it’s finally showing, the dudes mental illness won’t let him retire he is not going to play at an elite level again. He would have missed the playoffs if it wasn’t for the NFC south being garbage.

Tennessee has virtually no passing weapons, they are a decent team but if Henry is shut down they can’t move the ball. Old ass Brady wont do better than Tanny.

1) I don't think he's as good as what we already have.  He may be still better than 15-20 QBs, but not ours.

2) He has no future.

Don't think either Tom or Tua are interested in being a backup and make no mistake Tua is planning on playing next year. I don't think it makes sense from either player's perspective.

Get rid of Tua, hire Brady for a year, who would kill it with our receivers.  Give Thompson the backup role and draft a QB.  Tua would make a great backup somewhere else, but he's just not built for a 17 week NFL season.

Brady will finish 8-9 man. He just doesn’t have it anymore at 46 or whatever.

It's a lot to ask a 46 year old to stay healthy. Plus, it's a one and done and we have no draft picks. We dump Tua for Brady, then we are gambling on one Superbowl only and then a ton of mediocrity or worse for years to come, without our first rounders to help with the rebuild. Just not worth it.

The idea I had was to give Tua the year off to recover from his injuries.

Hence, signing Brady for only one year.

Plus, it would be funny to sign him just to watch all of you guys freak out.

But, it has been confirmed that Tua will be the starter in 2023.

LOl, you're joking right?  I'd bet you any amount of money that 46 year old Tom Brady has a better chance of staying healthy through the season versus 24 year old Tua.  Brady isn't just any 46 year old, he's probably the best conditioned player in the NFL.  He works at it 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
