I don't know if I'm overvaluing Warfield because I've never seen him play.  But from what I understand, he was a great talent.  It was a different era and he didn't really have the numbers, though.  Tough call.  But for me, he's on the list.

I think the definites are Clayton and Duper, in that order.

The last spot is a tough call.  I do believe that it will very shortly be Tyreek Hill, but for now, I think I'll go with Nat Moore.  Chambers is up there, too.   But Moore played for a long, long time.

So, my list:

Warfield
Clayton
Duper
Moore

That sums it up for me too.

I'm honestly surprised that Warfield is getting as much love as he is.  I thought I was going to be on an island with him, aside from a few old-timers chiming in.

The 4th spot is a revolving door.  I think you could pick from one of about 10 guys and not sound like a total lunatic.

Warfield always sticks out to me because he was mentioned frequently in Hunter Thompson’s “Fear and Loathing at the Super Bowl”

His numbers might not be there compared to todays receivers but 20 yards per catch is still phenomenal. I watched a bunch of clips before responding and he was very talented. Plus he was a factor in the glory days so.

I went with Landry for the last spot but it could have easily been, McDuffie, Gadsden, Chambers, Fryar…

Hell I wouldn’t have been upset if someone put Hill or Waddle there already.

Warfield
Clayton
Duper
McDuffie

Really ... the only spot up for debate should be McDuffie.  Warfield is a HOFer, Clayton might be some day and Duper was as good as it gets during his time in the league. Even though I've played catch with OJ in the parking lot I have to say depending on how Tyreek and Waddle finish their careers here will determine 4 spot and possibly the 3rd spot in my opinion. They are just that much better than everyone else in a league with so many great receivers.

I should add Freddie Solomon as an honorable mention (and predict Sunstroke will possibly include him in his choices).

The 49ers saw how good he was and grabbed him as part of the Delvin Williams trade - and they certainly got the better of that one.

Paul Warfield
Mark Clayton
Mark Duper
OJ McDuffie

I agree with the consensus that either Tyreek Hill or Jalen Waddle or both will be on that list soon.  The question is, at the expense of whom?

I don't know if I'm overvaluing Warfield because I've never seen him play.  But from what I understand, he was a great talent.  It was a different era and he didn't really have the numbers, though.  Tough call.  But for me, he's on the list.

Paul Warfield was an amazing talent.   He was a legitimate downfield threat brought in by Don Shula.  His presence worked wonders for the offense even when the ball wasn't coming to him.   Defenders had to account for him on every play and as a result, Howard Twilley was more open to catch underneath routes and linebackers were a step out of position to stop Csonka, Kiick and Merc.

If he played in today's NFL, he would be a perennial Pro Bowler.
