- See the other thread Carpenter - For 2012 Stoyanovich - For 1994 Sanders - He was erratic this year Title: Re: Alternate Mount Rushmore - Kickers Post by: masterfins on March 13, 2023, 12:44:27 am Mare - See the other thread Carpenter - For 2012 Stoyanovich - For 1994 Sanders - He was erratic this year Mare? Really? He's the ALL-TIME leading scorer for the Miami Dolphins with over 1,000 points. He had a 80.9% accuracy rate on 303 attempts, yet you want to fault him for a handful of misses? Likewise Stoyanovich had a 79.3% accuracy on 222 FG attempts. What kicks did he miss against the Patriots. You're just as wrong in the other thread as you are in this one. TA DA!!!!!!! Title: Re: Alternate Mount Rushmore - Kickers Post by: Dave Gray on March 15, 2023, 03:05:15 pm This thread doesn't really make sense.
Kickers are a dime a dozen, so if you're not good, you're off the team after a year or whatever. Whoever was really bad, we don't even know; we just moved on to the next guy. How good these guys are is almost directly tied to longevity. Title: Re: Alternate Mount Rushmore - Kickers Post by: Downunder Dolphan on March 16, 2023, 12:46:22 am I can't believe no one has mentioned Caleb Sturgis here yet - he'd be at the top of my list.

We had a slew of kickers who weren't anything special in 2004 (Bryant, Gramatica), but that team wasn't good enough for them to have an effect. Mare was on THREE playoff-quality teams, (2002, 2003, and 2005) and had chances where his kicks could have made the difference in each of those seasons. Then, in 2006, he missed ten field goals. Caleb Sturgis Tony Franklin (even though he was only here half a year, he missed kicks left and right) Dan Carpenter Title: Re: Alternate Mount Rushmore - Kickers Post by: dolphins4life on March 27, 2023, 12:39:03 pm Brad Daluiso
In Week 17 of 2001, he was signed to replace an injured Sebastian Janikowski for the Raiders when they played against the Jets. He missed two field goals and and extra point against the Jets in a 24-22 loss, which cost Miami a first round bye and gave it to the New England Patriots. The rest, as they say, is history. |
