Title: AFC East Rival Question
Post by: dolphins4life on August 25, 2023, 12:24:55 pm
Just curious

Of the three other teams in the AFC East, which one or ones would you root for in a game if them winning improved Miami's playoff chances.

For me, it would be all three.

I remember a couple of years ago, the Patriots were playing the Colts in a game where the Patriots winning would have greatly improved Miami's playoff chances, but most people on the board rooted for the Colts.

Does that apply to the Bills and the Jets?

Last year, the Bills and the Patriots played on Thursday night midseason.  I said root for the Bills to help Miami's overall chances.  People on the board told me I was ridiculous.  However, if the Patriots had won that game, Miami would have missed the playoffs.

This is advanced insight.

Now you're getting it

There are two factors in play

Since realignment, Miami has made the playoffs only twice.  Beggars can't be choosers

The Dolphins are just not that good this year.

This game took place in week 13.
At the time this game occurred, MIA and BUF were tied in record atop the AFC East, with MIA having the lead on tiebreakers.

Somehow, I am skeptical that you "knew" at the time that Tua would get another concussion, that MIA would lose 5 of the last 6 games, and that BUF would win most of their remaining games (along with having their toughest game literally cancelled).
