Title: Shame of the Game - Eagles Post by: dolphins4life on October 22, 2023, 11:16:34 pm The offensive line.
The missed call on the face mask was bad but didn’t affect anything. Miami got the touchdown the next play anyway Not too worried. This was just a loss to a better team Edit: To answer Brian's question, that drop was insignificant because the Dolphins scored on an INT return right after. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Eagles Post by: masterfins on October 22, 2023, 11:22:11 pm Eichenberg way too many bad snaps (late or not at all).
HM - Refs, C'mon not a single penalty called against Philly? Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Eagles Post by: Dave Gray on October 22, 2023, 11:26:59 pm Eli Apple seemed to be a part of a lot of bad plays.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Eagles Post by: Downunder Dolphan on October 23, 2023, 08:23:53 am From what I saw in the highlights package, it had to be Eli Apple.
Plus as if we didn't know already, we really need to find someone, anyone, who can cover a tight end. Preferably before the Chiefs game. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Eagles Post by: CF DolFan on October 23, 2023, 09:18:16 am I have a hard time of giving a back up player SOTG. Hard to say for me because we had so many backups playing and even our 9th O-Lineman. Our studs needed to step up and didn't so I'll take Tyreek as he never created the momentum we needed in the second half.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Eagles Post by: Brian Fein on October 23, 2023, 10:17:17 am Refs, TBH. Not a single penalty? Not one you could call? In the whole game? We saw several from our living room, y'all do this every weekend.
Tyreek, for the huge game-swinging drop near the end zone. how different would the game have been if that was a TD? Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Eagles Post by: Downunder Dolphan on October 24, 2023, 12:55:41 am I have a hard time of giving a back up player SOTG. I don't in this case. Apple was a former first round pick. He played as a starter for the Bengals in the Superbowl. While he's second fiddle to X and Ramsey, he's the very next in line to step up, and he's being paid for it. He earned his SOTG today. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Eagles Post by: Dave Gray on October 24, 2023, 09:42:37 am Regarding Apple, in addition to being beat a lot, he wasn't hustling. I saw him jogging behind the play. It's not often, but sometimes corners can come from behind and dislodge a ball when an opposing receiver gets caught up but not tackled yet. He wasn't putting himself in a position to make plays like that.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Eagles Post by: CF DolFan on October 24, 2023, 03:40:46 pm Apple isn't great and why he was available. He has a history of getting picked on so I guess I just expect much.

I guess it could be. I'd blame my wife for buying crappy groceries before I'd blame the groceries for being crappy. hahahaTitle: Re: Shame of the Game - Eagles Post by: Dave Gray on October 24, 2023, 04:32:23 pm hahaha ... is that my MO? You said it once about 5 years ago and I've been laughing every since, so maybe it's just something that stuck with me. |
