Title: Jaguars trade for Mac Jones Post by: dolphins4life on March 11, 2024, 03:35:53 pm A poor man's Tim Tebow.
He got a raw deal. He took the Patriots to the playoffs his first season. He was within two flagrantly missed calls of making them his second season (The LV non-touchdown catch by Cole and the pass interference no-call on the Dolphins against the Bears). And that is being generous. He had no talent his third season. Obviously they must be intending to use him as a backup. He and Skylar have each thrown playoff touchdown passes in their rookie seasons. Title: Re: Jaguars trade for Mac Jones Post by: Dave Gray on March 12, 2024, 02:22:15 pm I think he needs a fresh start. He might just be a bum, but he seemed shaken and out of sorts and was scapegoated. That team didn't seem to have his back for whatever reason.
Title: Re: Jaguars trade for Mac Jones Post by: CF DolFan on March 12, 2024, 03:06:47 pm This is good for him. He's from Jacksonville and Doug Pederson has a lot of experience developing back-ups. Probably the best situation he could be in right now.

They are surrounded by the best college football players (offense and defense), and therefore rarely have to prove themselves in college. Title: Re: Jaguars trade for Mac Jones Post by: Brian Fein on April 10, 2024, 02:37:06 pm Jones was on a trash team that quit on him. No QB would have been successful on that roster.
He's a better player than he has shown. He'll be better in a new location with a new team and no pressure to be Tom Brady's replacement. When Lawrence gets hurt (yes, WHEN, not "if"), Jones will step in and be a hero and people will say "why didn't he play like this in new England?"
