Title: Shame of the game - New England Post by: dolphins4life on October 06, 2024, 05:50:10 pm Since nominating posters for the Shame of the Game does not count, I'll start the real thread.
The Special teams was bad today, so I'll give it to them Title: Re: Shame of the game - New England Post by: Denver2 on October 06, 2024, 07:17:42 pm Crossman I’ll take your word on the special teams
Title: Re: Shame of the game - New England Post by: Downunder Dolphan on October 07, 2024, 06:47:22 am As I have said more than once before over a number of years... HOW THE FUCK DOES CROSSMAN STILL HAVE A JOB?
After so many basic fuck ups, who does he have left to blame? We traded for a Bills "special team ace" because it was the personnel and not him during the off-season, and we are somehow even worse now? Seriously to someone in the Dolphins hierarchy - WAKE THE FUCK UP! There is one constant in the Dolphins Special Teams being shit for about five years now... I don't care how popular this guy is, and you shouldn't either after this. Title: Re: Shame of the game - New England Post by: Dave Gray on October 07, 2024, 01:10:54 pm As all have said, special teams is terrible.
I also think that Sanders just isn't on par with the kicking elite. I don't know what it is -- he's not terrible, but these guys are now reliably kicking 50+ and sometimes even 60. Sanders seems shaken. Botched FG snap, missed kick, blocked punt -- pretty bad showing. We did have one nifty return up the side where (I think it was Cracraft) caught the punt with a head of steam and got a good chunk of yards. When players continually make mistakes (and more specifically ones resulting in penalties) that comes back to coaching. Shula's Dolphins were the least penalized team, year after year, after year... yeah he was on the rules committee, but he made damn sure his teams were prepared. The mistakes this year comes back to lack of preparation, and poor coaching. McDaniel has to wear some of that in regard to the offense, but... Not surprisingly there's a lot on special teams. You all know what I think of Crossman by now. He's a proven dud. |
