Name: John Vides How I found TDMMC: I was reminiscing about bad Dolphins drafts with my buddy Carlos (That's Thundergod to you) when the name "Yatil Green" came up. Â Carlos and I wondered whether Yatil had ever even caught an NFL regular season pass. Â I Googled the star-crossed receiver, and his "Ring of Dishonor" story came up front and center. Vital Stats: 6'4", 235 (But trying to get down to 215), 31 years old, married Occupation Accountant, finishing up my Master of Taxation degree, preparing for the CPA Exam. About Me: Â My favorite teams are the Dolphins, Heat / Spurs (I'm not originally a Miamian, and I've loved the Spurs since I became a hoops fan in 1989), Cardinals / Marlins (see above, have loved the Cards since 1982), and Miami Hurricanes. I've lived in 6 countries and speak 3 languages fluently. Â I love playing sports (contact sports only while my knees don't suck; I'll learn golf later), movies, reading and, apparently, obsessing over the Dolphins. He played a pivotal role in the creation of the Dolphins corn hole goals that can be seen in the "crazy scar, househead corn hole / beach footage" video in the Off Topic board. I am married & have 3 kids. 1 girl & 2 boys. Used to work in the Dyehouse Dept. running Dye Jets & measuring the chemicals & dyes. On May 29, 2002, I had a work-related accident & fell into 1 of the open-air dye vats burning 80% of my body. Stayed at Winston-Salem, NC Burn Unit for 3 months from May-Aug. 2002. Dad died July 13, 2002 of massive heart attack while I was in hospital. I am disabled, have constant leg & feet problems & can barely walk. Â Â Â Have been a die-hard Dolphins fan since I was 12 (1980), & did have most Dolphins games on VHS. Lost some of them due to a Workman's- Comp issue when my checks were not sent on time & my trailer became padlocked. Looking to rebuild ASAP. I do still have some games, not all. I love football, NASCAR, get into baseball & basketball at playoff time. Love the UNC Tarheels, classic rock music- I am a HUGE Beatles fan!! Also, I love good food!! Â Â Â I consider myself lucky to be here after all I have been thru. Not many people are going to burn 80% of their bodies & live to tell about it. I guess that's a big reason why I am so full of sentiment & nostalgia now. I appreciate & cherish my youth a lot more now. The Lord did keep me here for a reason. Maybe it's to spread His Word & let people know what He can do if you just believe. Because I've lived it & seen it & I am very thankful. Born and raised in Ohio, but I have been lucky enough to see the Dolphins play up here, and they didn't score... not even a field goal... but i'm now 21 years old and am a junior at Mount Union College in Alliance, OH. It's a good school with a great football tradition and it seems like it's a good match, it's worked out thus far anyway. I've lived for the dolphins since the impressionable age of 7 when Dan Marino "responded" to one of my letters with an "autographed" picture. like i said, impressionable age. In fact, I'm actually looking for a marketing position in the Miami area following graduation, and I've got a few leads. Maybe I'll eventually pick up one of those fabled "The Dolphins Make Me Cry" orange t-shirts if I make it down there. Some of my most prominent memories are of the Dolphins and their struggles (Marino's achilles tear, losing to the Chargers in AFC Championship...) so I figured this might be a good site to pay attention to. Anyway, that's what I've got, and if you're wondering about the picture, purple is our school color and we made those suits for the national title game last fall... Age: 24 How I found TDMMC: Through one of my best friends Dave Gray I was born in Boca Raton, FL. Currently live in Delray. I was one of the originals to join TDMMC and would actually hang out at Dave's Moms house back in the day and watch him create this website. I am a student at PBCC and only 9 credits away from my Associates Degree. From there I plan to attend FAU to pursue a Computer Science Degree and hope to become a programmer. Music is my first love and have been playing the guitar/bass guitar for about 9 years now. Dave and I used to jam all the time and used to have a band called Acetone playing mostly Nirvana/Skynyrd/Deftones covers. I was bred to love the Fins. Growing up my father was a season ticket holder in the good old days of Duper and Clayton; he would take me to numerous games when the Fins played at the Orange Bowl. Unfortunately, my Father passed away when I was 9 years old, but I know he would be excited about our team this year. I am a huge Miami Heat Fan as well. Hockey's cool and extremely fun to see live. Not a big fan of Baseball, but do have an extensive baseball card collection. Most of all...I am Dave and the crew's biggest fan for making the coolest Miami Dolphin site on the net. Thanks guys!! Playing the bass with my former band rehabitual. If you would like check us out click on this link ---> www.rehabitual.com (http://www.rehabitual.com) (http://myspace-828.vo.llnwd.net/00692/82/83/692523828_m.jpg) (http://myspace-781.vo.llnwd.net/00692/18/74/692514781_m.jpg) Title: Re: Roll Call - 2006 Edition Post by: Frimp on June 18, 2006, 05:05:38 am ^^^

If I had to put my vote in, I would vote for someone out of another era...the Dolphins first coach, George Wilson! I think he beats Wannstedt by a hair! I live in Denver, Colorado but I grew up 2 miles from the Orange Bowl. I remember the Dolphins when they started becoming a powerhouse around 1970. It's simple. I'm a Dolfan until the day I die! To me, it's the essence of Miami! If it wasn't for the excellence of the Dolphins, we probably wouldn't have the Heat. Marlins or Panthers. Don Shula began the winning legacy and thats why he'll always be the "Coach" in my book! I'm glad that B-Ball season is over and I can't wait for training camp to start! I think that Miami is going at least to the AFC Championship Game. We're overdue! I think Ronnie Brown is the next great running back in the NFL. I miss the "old" Miami. The Orange Bowl shaking, the innocence of the beaches, The zoo when it was on Key Biscanye, etc. Love Nick Saban! Think he's the second coming of Shula and just what the organization needed after the Jimmy-Dave regime. Anyway, it's a new era and the Dolphins are number 1! Go Dolphins! The Tradition Continues!!!
