Title: Damn cheese packagers... Post by: bsfins on January 14, 2006, 10:42:36 am I have a small complaint...Why do people like Kraft,Best choice,Sargentios, and other companies that make shredded cheese package them in Black,Blue,Purple and Green colored packages?
Is it not that hard to figure out, light shining on a blue package on a Yellow cheese, makes the cheese look old and moldy? Atleast 3 times this week this has been a problem. I believe it was Tuesday morning I fixed myself 2 Eggs (A major cut back for me),I noticed there was just a tiny bit of chedder left in a bag. I look in the bag,It seems ok,I pour it on my Hot eggs.I turn to throw the package away, the cheese was moldy. It's now melting into my eggs, there was no way salvage the eggs.I lose my stomach for eggs. Yesterday,(Friday) Now being very aware of looking more closely at the cheese in the bag,I decide to have a some cheese on my Field green salad. It's a bag of Jack/Chedder,I toss the bag around, looking at the cheese carefully. The Green Bag gives the cheese a green tinge to it.I skipped the cheese. Today,I made a tray of Vegetable Lasagne,I was using Mozzarella,Pecorino Romano cheese. Both came in a black/purple bag giving the cheese a strange possibly moldy look to the cheese.I poured them into a bowl to inspect the cheese before I used it.. I think I'm going to go back shredding all my own cheese again. Title: Re: Damn cheese packagers... Title: Re: Damn cheese packagers... Post by: Dave Gray on January 14, 2006, 05:51:59 pm There is a website...I don't remember which one, but I'm sure you can find it with minimal searching. They allow you to post praise/complaints about companies, and they put you in touch with the correct people.
It's a good route to get started. |
