Title: Celtics - TWolves Trade...
Post by: MaineDolFan on January 27, 2006, 09:54:25 am
A seven-player deal that sends Ricky Davis, Mark Blount, Marcus Banks, Justin Reed and two future second-round picks to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Wally Szczerbiak, Michael Olowokandi, rookie Dwayne Jones and a future first-round pick that will come in 2008 at the earliest.

What do you think of the deal?

Bull riding isn't a bad watch... ;D Ricky Davis is too concerned with personal stats and i don't know who the hell Marcus Banks & Justin Reed are, but they can't be too great if Boston had to throw in 2 2nd rounders besides them.

I don't think this really does a whole lot for either squad. Wally is a decent addition but he is really streaky as is Banks. The candy man is a candy ass. It will be interesting to see which team wins more games between now and the end of the season after this not so blockbuster deal!!!!!!

I like watching bull riding live when a rodeo is in town, but watching it on TV? Nah...

I think Boston got the better deal here...but only by a little. I like what Wally adds, from a pure shooter standpoint, to the Celtics' game.

I say the Twolves only fared slightly better. Minnesota originally wanted Ron Artest but he is a trainwreck so this was really plan B. They lose a shooter in Wally but gain Davis who can create his own shots - something KG desperately needs to set up his game. Kind of what Tony Parker & Manu Ginobli do for Tim Duncan. The Celtics continue to build around Pierce but they had a shooter a year ago in Antoine Walker & Kevin McHale reached out for Davis before just to now let him go again - go figure. The Celtics will be a fast paced exciting team in a few years they just need to grow I also think they need a solid center. Slight edge to Minnesota.

Well as a celtics fan i like the deal because its just pure and simple a better fit. Also we get rid of the big 7 foot stiff Mark blount along with his inflated contract. This will also allow the future celtic frontcourt of kendrick perkins& al jefferson more time to develop. Wally can now play the 3 and pierce can move to the shooting guard position. In a couple of years the celtics will be a team to be reckoned with. I like the direction were headed in young and athletic. And if gerald green is what they say he.........all i can say is wacth out.

Hey heat fans how's antoine working out for you? Thanks alot for that 7 million dollar player exemption that im sure danny will put to good use this offseason.

go celtics!!!!!!

How many years have the Celtics been an "in a couple of years we'll be good" team ? Lets be serious.

Dude they've made the palyoffs the last 4 years, and made the ECF in 02. Ainge decided to come in and clean house and make wholesale changes. Now he's trying to build this team around paul pierce with young athletic palyers. Are they tiltle contenders now? hell no, but like i said if  players like jefferson and gerald green develop IMO we will be.
