Title: Brett Favre is a glory hound
Post by: jtex316 on January 31, 2006, 01:08:15 am
I can't believe this freaking fuy.

During Super Bowl week, he agrees to an interview about the "future" of his career and whether he "feels" like coming back, completely turning the spotlight from the Super Bowl to HIMSELF.

FEELS like?  The Packers need to get some balls and outright cut him right now.  He has been a total hack QB for the last 3 years in this league, and has set the Packers franchise back another 6 with his hanging around.

I have a bad feeling after all this non-sense and media hype and Farve hogging as much air time as he possibly can, that he will come back for his 4th "final season", like the greedy asshole he is.  I HOPE he retires, but I fear the worst.

I would hate to be a Packers fan, since about 2000.  The team has been over-rated, and downright awful, and their QB uses his popularity to keep getting paid, regardless of how many lob-interceptions he puts up or bad plays he runs.

I hate Brett Favre

I thought it was a nice break from all the Super Bowl coverage. I mean... how much can you really talk about one game?

I would like to see him come back and try to have that elusive 30 INT season. I think he's game...

Just checking, but didn't Emmit Smith wait till the week of the Superbowl to retire?

I admit I didn't see the interview, but hell,I'll take anything but listening to the superbowl banter...I'm at the point...Just Play the Game...

I agree.  There's talk of both Favre and TO resurfacing with the Dolphins.... and one scout says with them both, the Dolphins are an immediate Super Bowl contender!!!!

And we'll "most likely" not get either...and STILL be an immediate contender.  ;D

Thanks man...I put that in my quote line to try to exorcise that lyrical demon from my poor fragile mind. I'd been singing it around the office all day today and folks were looking at me kinda funny. Pretty much the same looks I was getting a few days ago when I was wandering the hallways singing Denis Leary's "Asshole."  ;D

The client from Green Bay that I was talking to today really thinks that Favre is going to announce his retirement this offseason. Personally, I think his supporting cast is as much to blame for Favre's poor season (both directly, through lack of tangible support as well as passively, since the reason Brett felt like he had to gunslinger it every game was because he felt outmanned by every opponent) as Brett's diminishing skills. I think if Ahman Green, Javon Walker and his injured line all come back this next season, and they add some help on the defensive side of the ball, I could easily see Brett turn things back around for the Packers.

Just my 2 cents...

I am inclined to agree with this assesment. Although Brett may have lost a bit he can still be a force with a proper supporting cast. I think people are too eager to blame him for the Packers demise last season. I think he still has the skills to play in this league. I would take him over players like Kerry Collins, and (insert any Buffalo, or Cleveland QB here) anyday!!!!!

This is why Denver should never be banned from the site........great line.
