Title: One of Six: 2006 Draft Post by: Dave Gray on February 13, 2006, 01:31:08 am I think that there are six guys that we could land that would be a success.
They are: 1 Matt Leinart QB 2 Vince Young QB 3 Jay Cutler QB 4 D'Brickshaw Fergusson OT 5 Winston Justice OT 6 Jimmy Williams CB Obviously most of these guys will be gone early, but I think if we can grab any of these six, it'd be a steal. I think that Williams is actually a pretty good possibility. Title: Re: One of Six: 2006 Draft Post by: run_to_win on February 13, 2006, 02:29:28 am What about S/CB Huff from Texas?
Young had a tremendous final game... but what were his PASSING stats for the season?   ============ 65.2% completion, 26-10 TD-int ..... He did alright: Vince Young, 6'5" 230 2003 084-143 58.7% 1,155 06 07 130.6 135-0998 7.4 11 2005 212-325 65.2% 3,036 26 10 163.9 147-0993 6.8 12 Jay Cutler, 6'4" 230 2002 103-212 1433 48.6% 10 09 112.44 2003 187-327 2347 57.2% 18 13 127.69 2004 147-241 1844 61.0% 10 05 134.81 2005 273-462 3073 59.1% 21 09 126.07 Matt Leinhart, 6'5" 225 2003 255-402 3556 63.4% 38 9 164.46 2004 269-412 3322 65.3% 33 6 156.54 2005 283-431 3815 65.7% 28 8 157.74 Title: Re: One of Six: 2006 Draft Post by: Spider-Dan on February 13, 2006, 06:05:13 am If you're going to include Leinart and Young, why not include Bush?
Title: Re: One of Six: 2006 Draft Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on February 13, 2006, 07:23:06 am I agree with Run To Win. Gotta include Huff in that group.
Title: Re: One of Six: 2006 Draft Post by: Sunstroke on February 13, 2006, 09:02:03 am I think there is a good chance that all 6 will be gone by Miami's #16 pick. Title: Re: One of Six: 2006 Draft Post by: mcduff81 on February 13, 2006, 09:57:00 am Ngota, Defensive Tackle stud from Oregon, would be another for me. We are extremely old in that position, and he'll be a great long-term answer.
Title: Re: One of Six: 2006 Draft Post by: Phishfan on February 13, 2006, 10:04:28 am This is like a Christmas wish list. I don't see any of these guys available at our pick.

The guy is a freakin' beast in the middle, and will be a pro bowl nose tackle by his third season...if not immediately. Title: Re: One of Six: 2006 Draft Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on February 13, 2006, 10:06:51 pm I think Cutler is a slight possibility, with Justice, Williams, and Huff being strong possibilities.

I didn't know that he was a CB, to be quite honest. ...I figured he was gone anyway. If he plays both safety and CB, I would add him to the list. If you're going to include Leinart and Young, why not include Bush? Because we've already got squared away at RB. I realize that Leinart and Young are way gone at that pick, but I was just adding them, because QB is a pretty immediate need. Title: Re: One of Six: 2006 Draft Post by: Sunstroke on February 15, 2006, 02:56:51 pm Not sure whether it was the BBQ spam nachos or the yoo-hoo chocolate-orange smoothie, but I just had a flash...Miami drafts, in order, with their first three picks:
Round one: Va Tech CB Jimmy Williams, who inexplicably slides to #16, just like in the TDMMC mock. Becomes the greatest defensive back in franchise history. Round two: Alabama QB Brodie Croyle, who steps up to the podium and proceeds to headbutt the assistant commissioner, ensuring 7 more years of bad QB luck for the Dolphins. Fool us twice, shame on us... Round three: LSU OT, Andrew Whitworth. Saban dips back into the Gulf again, grabbing an NFL-ready player from his old Tigers. Whitworth is starting by midseason under Houck's tutelage. |
