Dolphins sign two defensive players

By ARMANDO SALGUEROasalguero@MiamiHerald.com

The Dolphins have officially joined the free agent fray, today agreeing to terms with linebacker Sedrick Hodge and cornerback Andre Goodman.  Hodge leaves the New Orleans Saints and comes to Miami by agreeing to a two-year deal worth $2 million with up to $1 million in incentive money if he can challenge for the Dolphins' starting outside linebacker spot.  Goodman leaves the Detroit Lions after agreeing to a three-year deal worth approximately $5 million.

Nice. At least we addressed other positions of need.

This makes me wonder if we are close to something with Brees. Remember, Saban said we wouldn't address any other positions until the QB situation was done.

probably the qb position has been settled. i doubt they would be making any moves until they know what the qb is gonna cost them. these look like some solid moves at reasonable prices.

Sweet signings for depth and we didn't overpay.  Both of them have starting experience.

Agree with JMoney above...nice price for a couple of serviceable defenders.

From what I'm reading (john clayton), it appears that Miami not only made an offer to Drew Brees, but to WR David Givens as well. Givens is considering all the offers he got from Cleveland, Miami and probably a few other teams before making a decision.

Hmmm...Brees throwing to Chambers, Givens, Booker and McMichael and handing off to Ronnie behind an even-better Houck-built O-line. 'Excuse me while I drool a little bit here...
