Title: Dolphins resign Sammy Morris Post by: DolFan619 on March 29, 2006, 05:55:15 pm Dolphins agree to terms with Sammy Morris
By Alex Marvez and Keven Lerner Sun-Sentinel.com Posted March 29 2006, 4:06 PM EST Running back and special teams standout Sammy Morris will be back with the Dolphins after all. Morris agreed in principle to a one-year contract with the Dolphins on Wednesday, according to agent Mark Slough. "Sammy is excited to be back and, I think, they're excited to have him back," Slough said. Morris potentially could be the team's top backup to Ronnie Brown if Ricky Williams is suspended by the NFL. Wlliams will appeal a yearlong suspension for failing a fourth drug test at an April 10 hearing. It's unknown what substance caused Williams to fail his fourth test. He tested positive for marijuana on three other occasions. Morris, who made a free-agent visit to Seattle two weeks ago, led the Dolphins in special teams tackles (16) last season. Morris, 28, also gained 58 yards on 3.6 yards per carry and had eight catches for 54 yards while occasionally assuming the third-down tailback role behind Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. Those kind of thread titles freak me out. I wanted him to stay ;D.
