WHY THE HELL IS RICK SPIELMAN AN ESPN ANALYST? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Because Wanny is friends with Mel Kiper.

I guess this is one of the great mysteries of life.  If I was one of the HR personnel at ESPN, I would have tried to hire someone that has more football saavy than Spielman. I pray that he's not a part of Draft weekend.  Unfortunately, he probably will be.  I can only begin to imagine his analysis of the Dolphins picks.

This guy has said enough stupid things on ESPN more than I would have liked to hear.  I remember when he was on Outside The Lines and he said that he "personally" had a part in the hiring of Nick Saban.

When I heard that, I just shook my head and laughed a little bit.  The only part that Spielman probably played was the role of "coffee bitch", because that's all he's really qualified to do.  My greatest hope in all of this is that hopefully someone will call Spielman out on the A.J. Feeley, Lamar Gordon, and David Boston trades.  Reminding him that he is one of the worst GM's to have ever graced the NFL.

Not to quibble, because I mostly agree here, but a 6th rounder for Boston was OK by me.  6th rounders hardly ever make the roster beyond a year or two, anyway. I saw that move as nothing ventured, nothing gained.   Now, a second rounder for Feeley and a third rounder for Gordon, well, those were indefensible.

I am glad someone brought up this potentially harmful situation...because I am still boggled that ESPN would make such a critical error in judgement. Not only does Rick really seem like a complete dumbass when asked any question involving football, but at the exact moment that ESPN announced Rick Spielman as their "expert NFL GM Insider," a small tear in the fabric of the universe opened up over Bristol, CT and now threatens to swallow the entire planet whole.

Same reason Lee Corso is a NCAA football analyst.  LOSERS end up on TV if they get kicked out of the game.  JJ the pork faced devil.  Corso. Spielman.  It's not like they can get Bellicheck to do it  :D.

With that being said, I think Spielman's draft analysis would be better suited on the Comedy Channel  >:D

He did.   He & Wanny were so utterly incompetent, they got fired & Huzienga hired Saban.   :D  (I know Wanny "quit")

Well, on the bright side, New England and New Jersey are pretty close to CT.  ;D

Massachusetts and New Jersey?

OHHH...I got it...The tear in the universe threatens to swallow the whole planet. BUT, Stroke didnt say how long it would take. We could have next season without the Jets and Patriots.  ;D

It seems to be working...as more and more people realize the sheer idiocy of Spielman being considered an expert "anything" in the football world, the tear in the fabric of the universe appears to be fixing itself.

Thank you all for helping save our planet!

hellooooo     CT is part of new england.

jersey isn't; its part of the "tri-state area" (CT/NY/NJ) as well as the "atlantic states" (NY, DE, PA, ML)
