Title: Making the rounds... Post by: Brian Fein on June 28, 2006, 10:24:10 am Backup QB spot
Will the Patriots add a veteran quarterback before the start of training camp? If the team plans to do so, one of the top possibilities is Jay Fiedler. A free agent, Fielder currently has three teams he's considering, according to the St. Petersburg Times: the Buccaneers, Giants, and "a team that wishes to remain anonymous." The Patriots often prefer to fly under the radar when it comes to personnel moves, so it wouldn't be surprising if they've at least explored a move for Fiedler. The team currently has Tom Brady and Matt Cassel atop the quarterback depth chart. The Patriots have employed a veteran signal-caller in each of Bill Belichick's six years as coach, but currently don't have one on the roster. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2006/06/backup_qb_spot.html HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! For some reason, I cannot stop laughing... Title: Re: Making the rounds... Post by: Denver_Bronco on June 28, 2006, 10:30:04 am Fiedler would be electric as a Patriot

Title: Re: Making the rounds... Post by: Dave Gray on June 28, 2006, 12:15:04 pm I guarantee you, Fiedler will play well with the Pats. They are a mistake-free team that fits his style of play perfectly. That'd be a great fit for him, and he'd probably beat us.

Dave, you're a little late for April Fool's Day. ;D Title: Re: Making the rounds... Title: Re: Making the rounds... Post by: Dave Gray on June 28, 2006, 02:55:40 pm You guys forget - I think Fiedler sucks, but he wins games when his role isn't a large one.
We won a ton of games with him. As a Pat, they'll play good around him and make him not have to do that much. |
