Atleast he helped the cops to get his suppliers, has this guy been suspended ?
This brings up the bengles, this team is riddled with bad seeds, i wouldn't doubt with all the players who were cutt, suspended and holding out that they will be the worst team in the NFL this year.

has this guy been suspended ?

The sting was covert, and not publicly known until late yesterday.  If Godell knew about it he couldn't do anything publicly, and the DA may have even insisted he not know about it.

So NO he has not been suspended in less than 24 hours.  Nor has anybody ever been suspended that quickly.

He didn't violate the controls substance policy unless their was test we don't know about.  If anything he violated the conduct policy.  So far I think Godell has only suspended for the conduct policy if their was a guilty plea or a guilty finding.  He may have a deal where the charges get dropped, thus no conviction.  Which might put Godell in a bit of a quandary you can't suspend a guy for cooperating with the police.

But whether by league suspension, team suspension or his own choice I hope he is in treatment before returning to the field.

If he does get suspended at all I imagine it wouldn't be more then 4 games.
But where this guy never been in trouble before, and where he assisted in the case it wouldn't suprise me if nothing happens.

If he does get suspended at all I imagine it wouldn't be more then 4 games.
But where this guy never been in trouble before, and where he assisted in the case it wouldn't suprise me if nothing happens.

Today's Boston Globe published the NFL substance abuse policy.

Quote
First-time offenders enter stage one of a rehabilitation program, where the focus is on evaluation over a period that could be as short as 90 days or as long as six months. There are no suspensions for entering stage one of the program, only the possibility of fines.

Players in stage one can be given a treatment plan, and if they don't follow it, they would be advanced to stage two for up to 24 months (or two seasons).

Players in stage two who fail a test, or are deemed to not be following their treatment plan, are initially subject to fines. A second failed test, or a second incident that shows a lack of following the treatment plan, results in a four-game suspension and elimination from the Pro Bowl if selected.

At that point, a player would advance to stage three and remain there his entire career. Any player in stage three who fails to comply with the program is banished from the NFL for a minimum of one year.

Players in the program are drug-tested regularly, possibly up to 10 times per month.

The NFL keeps the names of players in the substance abuse program confidential, so it is not known in what stage, if any, the 28-year-old Kaczur might be.

So a fine or nothing is a distinct possibility. You need to screw up at least twice to get a 4 game suspension.

The NFL knows that there is no reason to fine or suspend a player that is going to have to enter the FBI's witness protection program anyway.
