Okay, I know a lot of people complain about Red Sox Nation and annoying fans and all that jazz, but I just got teary after reading this story from the Boston Globe. This is what happens when people come together. Major props to the Sox and all who donated for this family.

I hate Red Sox and Patriots bandwagon fans. They give the rest of us a bad name

Great article SportsChick, as a redsox fan it deeply moves me to see the RedSox nation as a giving one.

Wow!!!  It makes me want to work for charities like the Make A Wish Foundation.  Seeing stuff like that is very heartwarming, and I'm sure it's very rewarding for all involved.

Forgive me for being the insensitive asshole of the group, but...

Its great what the team and other fans did for these kids, but they only got this treatment because they lost their father.  I bet if they got to choose between all this royal treatment and stuff and sitting in the bleeders with their father, they'd choose the latter.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely think that its nice what they did, and I commend them for that, but its in no way a consolation for losing your father and your personal hero.

I'm not disagreeing with that, but that everyone came through to fulfill a promise their dad made is awesome

You're absolutely right, but would the public be this kind and caring to them if their father was still alive?  I don't think so.
