I have a client who hasn't been with my company for over a year.  However, we still hosted them, and since closing down our server, have had to assist them in the transfer to a new one.

Today, I get a call from a guy named Doug who was calling on their bahalf.  I talked to the guy for about 15 seconds, and then passed him off to a more tech savvy employee of mine to help him.

But Doug's voice was haunting me.  I knew a guy named Doug who sounded like him.  The Doug I knew moved to Michigan over a year ago.  We weren't long-time friends.  I'd met him at a bar a lot of times with other friends, but we never hung out separately or anything.

So...it's killing me.

I go on facebook and tell Doug that I spoke to a guy that sounded just like him.  ...and it was him.

So weird.

I had a weird moment like that at work a couple of years ago... I got a lead for some graphics work from a woman named Vicki, but when I looked at the street address, I pretty much froze up, because it was my father's old address in tiny little Chino Valley, AZ before he passed away. I called the lead, and it turned out to be my cousin Vicki from CA, who had bought Dad's old house after he died.
