Seriously, what's it going to take for Denver to get some respect. They're 6-0 and have been underdogs in EVERY game except for those against the Browns and Raiders. And, seriously, being favorites by a field goal or less against those teams is even more disrespectful than anything.

4.5 point underdogs against the Bengals.
3 point FAVORITES against the Browns. (Almost as much of an insult).
2.5 point FAVORITES against the Raiders. (Serious insult).
2.5 point underdogs against Dallas.
3 point underdogs against New England.
3.5 point underdogs against San Diego.

They've covered the spread EVERY SINGLE WEEK. No exceptions. Winning outright 4 out of 4 times they've been underdogs.

Yet, this week, they're 3.5 point dogs against the 4-2 Ravens. What, exactly, have the Ravens shown to deserve being a favorite? They've beaten Cincy, Cleveland and San Diego -- just like Denver, but less convincingly. Their other victory was against the Chiefs. Not exactly impressive. Finally, the Ravens have LOST to the Patriots and Vikings, the former of whom Denver BEAT.

To make things "worse", Baltimore just represents some really good matchups for the Broncos. Their short passing game is exactly what the Ravens have had trouble stopping and on the other side of the ball, Denver's top-3 running D is perfectly set to stop the Ravens' best offensive weapon, Ray Rice.

I agree that Denver is getting a bit more disrespect than they should be, and that they are one of the biggest surprises in the league this season...BUT I do believe their top-3 run-D rank is a high charade. It's the age old question, really...which came first, the ranking (chicken) or the matchups (egg). Of all their opponents so far this season, only Cinci has a decent running game, and in week 1, it wasn't quite in full gear yet. Aside from Cinci...

Cleveland has no running game (24th in NFL)
Oakland has no running game (26th in NFL)
Dallas had a nicked up Marion Barber and no Felix Jones against the Broncos.
New England was missing their best RB (Taylor) and had to rely on Sammy Morris.
San Diego has no running game (31st in the NFL)

No disrespect against Denver, but I fully expect Ray Rice, who leads the NFL with 127 combined rushing/receiving yds per game, to run roughshod through the Broncos run defense mirage.

Rice had a mediocre game. 87 yards on 23 carries.

The Broncos got a serious beat down, though... Letting Flacco complete 20 of 25 probably wasn't a good idea Wink

Okay DB, I'll give the Broncos some credit because someone missed the memo but Josh McDaniels didn't.

Jay Cutler is a "junkman's QB". He's not that smart.

I have a Elway and Shanny hangover but I gotta give McD his props.

You knew the Broncos would have trouble today on the road against a team that needed that win desperately and was coming in with 2 weeks to prepare for the game.

Baltimore did make it to the AFC championship game last year. They are decent.

Not the way you have been bragging about them after going 6-0. They should have shut the Ravens down with that defense that everyone has been hyping.
