Maybe we can rape the Redskins 1 more time........ Grin

Nah, that train has left the station...Daniel Snyder gave personnel control over to Shanny this offseason.

Posted this in an anti-fins thread a minute ago, but wanted to put it in here so I could go back and gloat afterwards about my keen vision of the future<g>...I'd never remember it in the anti-fins, as I hardly ever visit that area. It fits this thread just as well.

* I really think, barring an impact FA signing prior to the draft, Miami is going to positionally go the following draft direction...(with players named being for "if I could drop a dollar at astronomical odds" purposes only):

#12:  NT (Dan Williams, Tennessee)
#43:  FS or OLB (Nate Allen, USF or Ricky Sapp, Clemson)
#73:  Whichever of the FS/OLB that didn't get taken in rd 2( FS Reshad Jones, Georgia, OLB Navarro Bowman)
#107: WR (Danario Alexander, Missouri, Demaryius Thomas, Ga Tech)
After:  O and D-line, drafted by the pound, with more of a taste for higher upside beef from smaller schools.

I like how you're thinking Stroke.  I see it the same way, except with a few minor tweeks...

1 - NT (Dan Williams)...he may not be available with the Bills and Broncos ahead of us, so OLB (Jason Pierre-Paul)

2- WR (Benn, Tate) OR NT if not taken in the first (Cody or Cam Thomas).  I also wouldn't be upset with FS Nate Allen because of my USF homerism.

3 - OLB ( Koa Missi (sp?), Ricky Sapp) if not taken in the first OR FS (Rashad Jones even though I don't think he'll fall that far...I think he's gone in the second round).

4 - go with the best available talent, whether it fills a need or not.

I would love nothing more than for Ricky Sapp to last til rd 3, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it unless I thought I looked good in blue.

I've now seen Pierre-Paul mocked to the Dolphins and 49ers both a number of different times...methinks I'll get the opportunity to cheer for him next season.

More shopping at the Bull Market... The more film I viddy on Nate Allen, the more I like this kid. He makes smart decisions in coverage and is as tough as his college mascot. I'd take him on either SF or Miami in a second.

We've got the Holy mock trinity all on board with Williams... Kiper, McShay and Walterfootball.com all have him landing in Miami at #12 in their most recent draft.

Oh boy.......that usually means it ain't gonna happen. But as long as they don't reach for a fast punt returner with a nice family ,  I'm ok with it.

Then it is an absolute lock that the Dolphin's won't draft Williams!  Put all the eligible player in a hat and randomly draw names and you will be just as accurate as these guys.

It's easy to throw pot shots at mock drafters, but WalterFootball is usually as accurate as any mock site on the web. If I have some time this weekend, I'll break down the players in the first round last year (or last couple of years) who were mocked unanimously by all three and how many ended up getting selected by that team. I'd bet it's a relatively high number for a mock projection.

Dan Williams will be a Miami Dolphin in April...this is my call, and it is beyond mocking. Grin

Actually, Walterfootball.com has us taking Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida.  I'm happy with him or Dan Williams.

Aha!  That must have changed recently...I saw Dan Williams there last week.

I agree with you though...I'd have no problem with either Miami or SF taking Pierre Paul, though I think Miami's bigger need at this point is a dominant NT.

I agree, but I think JPP COULD be the most dominant DE/OLB in this draft, while there isn't that much a drop off from Dan Williams to Terrence Cody to Cam Thomas.

I know this is later in the draft, but where is Dolfan-dom on Myron Rolle for the hole at free safety?  I like his size, speed, hitting, etc...plus, he's an incredibly bright guy; no Jason Allen type problems picking up the defense, for sure.  Would you pick him up in the third or fourth round?

I rate Rolle higher than most are mocking him...I think intelligence is a key tool for the free safety position, and when you combine that with his physical gifts (god bless a good athletic gene pool), I see him being that guy who might take a season to get himself up to NFL speed, but will develop into a very good starting safety. Like Pierre-Paul, both teams I love need safety help, and I would love to see Rolle on either team when training camp starts.

^^^It amazes me that NFL teams are "worried" he may retire early and pursue medicine.  When the average player only lasts 3 seasons in the NFL, should that really be a top concern?
