Okay first and foremost I'm a longer suffering fan like
most of you but to be honest I am proud and have enjoyed
our many season for the most part. Also, I am just a
couch gm like the most of you and shouldn't be taken
too seriously- yes I love the game of football
but I will not claim to know it all, these are just
my opinions. Agree or disagree.

I love where we are headed right now, the MArshall
trade is just what the doctor ordered but despite
that we have still not addressed our 3 main areas of
concern. NT, a pass rushing OLB, and Fs.

I hear chatter about drafting spiller. Stop the nonsense.
we avg 24 pts a game last yeare with henne at the helm
and expect that to go up with a easier schedule and
an improved passing attack with Marshall.

We need to address defense immediately.

I agree with needing to draft defense.  Our pass russ has gotten sluggish and if we want to keep our young corners improving, I think we need to cut down on the amount of time that they're going to be on an island.  It will allow them to play more aggressively.

I think we all know it has to be NT-OLB-FS.

Those who want to draft Spiller need to relax.  Another year of Ronnie & Ricky is more than most temas could wish for, and with Cobbs coming back, and Lex Hilliard having another camp, the position should be fine.

Another thing about RB:

It's not a position that has to "gel" as much as some others.  You can get a mercenary rather easily that can step in and not need to learn a system.  Next year, you can use a guy you have (like Cobbs), draft a guy, or get a free agent and still be competitive.  If your o-line blocks holes, anyone can run through them.  It isn't ideal, but it can get you through it -- and is definitely not a priority.

I don't trust Cobbs as an every-down back.  Don't get me wrong, I love how he plays, but no Ricky, no Ronnie, methinks its the Lex Hilliard show.  Kid can play.

I am campaigning for Earl Thomas in the first round after a bunch of posturing to the Giants to coax them to trade up to 12 for whoever they just have-to-have.....

^^ Fine.  Hilliard may be the guy.  Whatever.

The point is if you have to "slum" it for a year without a stud at the position, RB is a pretty safe place to have that issue.

Oh, I would agree...  but it means you have to have a stellar O-line.  I think our O-line is serviceable but not studly to the degree that Denver's was in the early-2000's.  They were "slummin' it" for YEARS at RB...

The more I see and hear, the more I'm convinced this is a really bad draft for pass rushers. JPP is the new Gholston, I think. I'd much rather take a chance on one of the lesser-known prospects (say Eric Norwood if he's available in the 3rd or 4th -- or maybe Te'O'Neisham, who had an insane numbers at the combine).

JPP is my top-bust-pick this year (we should do a TDMMC bust-picking contest... pre- or post-draft?). He started a total of 7 games of D-I football. He's slow, he's weak, and he's... "academically challenged". That's some serious bust-potential there.

you're right on the money fyo,
i'm really thinking we can get some good quality lb's in the fourth and fifth round between norwood, spikes and curry (SEC BABY).... there's some talent out there... however i still do believe a a de like graham is neccessarry in the first round...
