2011 NFC East Champions!

« on: October 04, 2010, 12:01:14 pm »

...but then again, it looks like their true colors are showing.

The got embarrassed by Seattle (who is proving to be mediocre) in the season opener. Then, they played the Saints tough but shot themselves in the foot to go 0-2. They then lose (badly) to the Chiefs. Then, Nate Clements does something completely stupid and doesn't fall down after the game-winning INT, which leads to their fourth straight loss against Atlanta yesterday.

It seems that there's no way to predict what this team will do. They play the Saints and the Falcons tough (two good teams), but then the get pummeled by the Chiefs and Seahawks, two questionable teams at best (Yes I am mocking the 3-0 KC record).

All in all, they are what their record says they are (as once said by a former Dolphins executive), and 0-4 isn't a good record to have. They should try to fight and salvage this season to a respectable record (possibly .500) and then invest in some leadership - e.g.,  a new QB because Alex Smith sucks.

On top of that, I don't really know how tough Atlanta and New Orleans are.  Neither one is a world beater.  Perhaps the Niners are just a shitty bust and everyone was wrong about them?

I really think the QB position can make or break a team.

Look at Sam Bradford. His Rams are 2-2 and the kid is not playing bad - sure he's a rookie and still doing rookie-type things (like an INT in the end zone) but he's playing well and the team is playing well and in contention for the division. What if Sam Bradford was drafted by the 49ers last year? The 49ers have comparable offensive talent and a much better defense - could the 49ers be 3-1 or 2-2 instead of 0-4 right now?

Your post is the only thing that's questionable... Kansas City is one of the top 5 teams in the NFL.

Patriots
Jets
Packers
Steelers
Saints

Which one of these teams are you replacing with Kansas City? KC has beaten the Chargers (bums), Cleveland (super bums), and the 49ers (mega bums). Not necessarily a who's who of the NFL elite.

You calling the Chargers bums and the Chiefs mediocre tells me you might be looking at things a little skewed...

No worries...as both SD and KC continue to win, you'll figure it out.  KC is a top 5 team in the NFL "right now," and San Diego is a top-10 team "right now." I expect both to only improve as the season goes along.
