Really?  I think there are at least 4 good QBs coming out this year.

With those kind of numbers you are talking the 1983 draft all over again. I bet more are bums/mediocre than aren't when all said and done.

Fire everyone, then give Henne a REAL coaching staff to work with before you let him go and you draft a QB

henne is done, forget about him... pennington's salary just got bumped 3 million for the rest of the year based off of this one start. he's the qb for the rest of the season barring injury, and even in that case it might go to thigpen.

Pennington won't even finish the game Sunday, let alone the rest of the season.  Sparano will realize his mistake by halftime.

Too late. He already lost most of the fanbase, lost Henne, and divided the lockeroom with this one move. Sparano fell on his sword today. He had nobody left to fire after he got rid of Pasqualoni last year and our ST coach this year. And Tony had nobody else to blame. So he turned to Pennington and is hoping for a miracle. When the miracle doesn't come Tony will be shown the door.

There is nobody left to blame but Tony himself

He could have fired Henning instead. Hopefully, if they do clean out the coaching staff (which I am against) they keep Nolan.

1) He can't fire a 70 year old Henning. Because that means in less than a year he would have fired his offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, and special teams coach. NO ASSISTANT COACH IN THE NFL WOULD COME TO MIAMI OR WORK FOR SPARANO EVER AGAIN!!!! He would be blackballed in NFL circles if he fired Henning. Why would any coach work for Sparano when he knows as soon as the going gets tough, HE WILL FIRE YOU and take NO BLAME himself!  Sparano couldn't fire Henning or else it would have been career suicide!

2) Nolan will bolt after this year. He will get some looks as a head coach (possibly being Jerry Jones puppet). Nolan is a hot cookie and doesn't need this train wreck in Miami

Not disagreeing with you.  There are six guys that will probably be taken in the first two rounds (Round 1: Andrew Luck, Jake Locker...maybe Cam Newton and Ryan Mallet.  Round 2:  Nick Foles, Christian Ponder).  Out of those guys, I'm guessing Luck and Locker will be stars and Mallet (6-7 238lbs and has a laser rocket arm) has the potential to be a star, but needs some polishing.  Newton is in the same mold as Tebow, which I still don't see that style panning outing in the NFL, and Ponder just isn't that good IMO.  I don't know much on Foles, so maybe someone could enlighten me.  So if Miami wants to draft a QB next year, it has to be one of those guys.

If we go RB, I want Mikel Leshoure out of Illinois.  6-1 228 lbs. 40 Time: 4.51. Big, powerful, fast...what else could you ask for?  RB is pretty deep in 2011, so I wouldn't want to take one in the first round unless it's Leshoure.  I also think a guy like Noel Divine would be a nice weapon to have.

Damn, all this draft talk has me geeking out already for the draft.  I haven't given up on the season yet.

I think people have Locker valued too high. I'm pulling for Luck (his dad is WVU's athletic director and a former QB). Mallet I think may do something. Newton I don't think will pan out. Ponder I don't think much of. Like you, Noles is the one I don't know much about.

If I were to rate the "overall" quality of the QB prospects in this draft, I'd rate the top-5 as:

1) Andrew Luck
2) Ryan Mallett
3) Jake Locker
4) Ricky Stanzi
5) Christian Ponder

If I were rating them by which has the most "superstar upside," It would go:

1) Ryan Mallett
2) Andrew Luck
3) Jake Locker
4) Colin Kaepernick (but only as a development project)
5) Ricky Stanzi

With all that said, I still don't think Henne is done in Miami, and I don't think Miami should invest a first or second round pick on a QB.

I sure hope my 49ers do though...our QB situation is scary-bad. Nothing would make me happier than to see Andrew Luck or Ryan Mallett wearing a Niners uniform next season.
