I started to title this,"More of my twisted views of the world..."

Sorry for the size,I shrunk them down from 1920 x1080

I couldn't find and exact model/year/that looked the same,so I'll call it a kit car....It's 1963 289 AC Shelby Cobra

This project started out as a Nash Metropolitan, then changed to a 1963 Ferrari Spyder California Gt (anyone? Anyone?) back to a Nash Metropolitan,to a Shelby Cobra ,Back to the Nash, and then to this....

The car has been awhile, I had a horrendous time with textures and lighting, then putting it in a scene..I spent a week trying to make my own clouds, and decided my method didn't look real enough...

^^^ Not today for me. It hasn't stopped raining here for days (and it is a downpour). Nice work B. I've always wanted a Cobra ever since I built a model one in my childhood.

Dude that is so sweet.  You know I love your work.

But I gotta make a few nit-picky comments.  Constructive, of course.

- The shadows from the light poles don't seem to match the same light source as the shadow of the car.  It may be a perspective thing, but it looks like the direction of the shadow of the light pole is going into the frame, and the car is coming out of the frame (towards you).

- You may consider making the wood on the pier look a bit more weathered, grayer and older.  It looks like wood off the newest pier ever built.

- The waves in the ocean look a bit flat.

- The modeling of the car is amazing.  Do you have some solid modeling program you used to do that?

Sorry for being so critical.  Its the only things I could find that would make it better.  Otherwise, your work is, as always, amazing.

That's All? Long Exhale...as I wipe the sweat off my brow....Good...I love the critique, don't mind someone pointing out those things, they all make me better, make my stuff better. I appreciate them....

Most of that was thrown together in a couple hours, the ocean was from another project, when I first set it in the scene,it turned all white no detail.

I added rocks, but when I went ahead to make the waves move, they appeared as Grey UFO's hovering above the water...

The Pier was weathered (kind of Blue/Grey),so were the benches..Everything almost looked Black and white..The sun is too big,for the scene is why the shadows appear funny.....
So all that stuff..isn't a big deal....I have a building that I worked on for 2 days, but then I thought,I did the Diner for the Isetta.

There are a ton of little details that drive me nuts, that I see..
*I changed the seat from a plain rounded seat, but they're the right size. The cockpit in reality is tight, and everything is packed in...Mine is almost as roomy as an escalade

*The head lights/taillights don't seem like they warp light,or have the thickness I want..I put a reflection plate, and a bulb to give it a more real look, and still doesn't look right...

*The whole windshield, and assembly, with the wipers.. Feels/looks not the way I hoped...

*There is a spot on all the fenders, where the hypernurb (I've rarely, almost never used hypernurbs in the past) twisted the polygon, the phong angle screwed up,and it makes the fender appear to look like it's been wrecked with some colors, materials, and angles...

*The original Color/Texture concept was a metallic maroon,to wine color with a red stripe. When I took it out of this lighting,It turned black,in HDRI lighting it looked black and red. When I made it it Teal, with no metallic,it turned sky blue. The few people that I showed, really liked the Blue car...My buddy and I dubbed the Red Metallic one (the Coke Can) I made it into a wall paper for my computer...So I had something for the model....

I'll stop boring the hell out of everyone... Embarrassed

The "Coke can"

The Original file (Parts/Textures/lighting I used to model it) it's really just a pile of polygons, not ever really grouped together, just copied and rotated to render out to post here.No color correction etc.etc.

Brian, I think You've asked me before about solid modeling, and I didn't have a clue what I do...I use Cinema4d,because a copy was given to me from buddy that the printing shop (defunct as of January of this year) he worked at bought, but no one knew how to use...Then I bought the update for it,but I'll be screwed when a new version comes out...

So I rendered out,and posted posted original file of the model so you can see most sides...I started out with a blue print (that was totally wrong),and ended up using different picture references..and a Cube Primitive...

I learned a TON of things making this, unfortunately, more stuff to bang my head against the wall and frustrate me...

The Pirelli name on the tires are too raised, they need to be flush, you could go white letters if you want the tires to appeal more. The benches seem big compared to the car. The steering wheel looks as if it is touching the drivers door/sheetmetal, at the very least you could not put your hand there, I would suggest a smaller and making it a wodd steering wheel would be very cool and period correct too.
Other than that it looks very good, and I would love to see the Spyder California GT which is far rarer and cooler than a Cobra IMHO

^^ thanks for the input, the steering wheel is wood, it's red mahogany...The Pier pics the lighting,it doesn't seem to show up that way, most of the "bright lighting" scenes the Cobra logo in the center of the steering wheel, and all the gauges seem to disappear...You're right about the steering wheel distance...I redid the interior, and did't adjust the steering wheel..

Ok an interior shot...(no giving me shit, about no holes in the floor,etc,etc..you're not supposed to see this like this....thanks! ) Ignore the reflection in the window,it's part of the HDRI...

That steering wheel looks much better and the woodgrain really shows. The gap between the body and wheel looks much more natural.
Sorry kinda a gearhead, but you are doing much better than I ever could
Maybe I will have you mock up my 67 Cougar when I finish her Wink
