Ok, So this isn't just a thread to rag on movies...

Post a movie you've seen lately, that surprised you.You had heard it sucked,or didn't know anything about it..and Liked...

Post a movie you've seen lately, that you were disappointed in.

For each good, you need to post 1 bad.....and maybe why

Surprise - City Island -Not a great movie, but I just started watching it,and kind of liked it....

Disappointment - the Fighter - It seemed pretty much the same as most boxing movies...well ok except looking at Amy Adams Cheesy

Surprise -The Parking lot movie - It was something on netflix,I read the little floating pop up describing it..I thought what the hell....I thought is was interesting ofr some odd reason.

Disappointment - Due date -The previews were the best part....Not funny, almost to the point of bored me...

I won't give away any spoilers, so my choices may not make sense unless you watch the movie.

Surprised: Skyline - Interesting concept, plot, and way of conveying that plot.

Disappointed: Skyline again - You did such a good job of conveying the "reality" of futility in a science-fiction alien movie, why go ahead with the stupid ending?

Surprised: Sucker Punch - It's not a good movie, in terms of a cohesive narrative, but I had heard it was terrible.  I went to see it anyway, because I really like the director.  The action scenes are so incredibly cool that it made up for the rest of the movie being flat.

Disappointed: Freakonomics - I loved the book, and the concept is cool, but the movie didn't show those vignettes in the best way possible.  The movie was still OK, but was kinda dull and slow.

Surprised: Battle : L.A. - Not because I had heard it sucked (A bad review won't alter my decision in wanting to see a movie), but because "Skyline" really put a sour taste in my mouth that made me cautious.

EXACTLY. Amongst other things... ooohhhh

Surprised: Batman: Under the Red Hood - Wasn't what I had expected. At all.  Even if Kevin Conroy didn't voice B-man. The action, feel, emotion of the characters and the violence... good stuff.

Disappointed: Scott Pilgrim vs The World:  Yeah,  no.

Disappointed: Scott Pilgrim vs The World:  Yeah,  no.

This is one of the best movies I'd seen in a long, long time.  I loved it.
