I don't know whether Ireland is a good person, but I know Channing Crowder Had 33 tackles in 2010.  He sucked and I'm glad he's gone.  I said it then, I say it now.

He was offered by a lot of teams, he turned them all down. His wife was 8 months pregnant and he wanted to be with her. While I won't defend Crowder, that is why he didn't play last year. He did have a bunch of offers though. Chicago, Philly, Buffalo I know went after him very hard

No one offered him anything as far as I know. Where did you hear this? The only thing I read from reputable sources was that the Pats worked him out, then showed no follow-up interest. -EK

He "surprisingly" retired just days after being released. I say surprisingly because that's the word I remember. He announced it on the radio and no one saw it coming. If I rember correctly he made up hid mind in while in New England and informed them. I don't think there was time for anyone to make an offer.

He had minimum offers from the Bears and Philly as well as the Pats showing a lot of interest and they gave him a physical. Before NE could offer him anything he retired,. With his wife 8 months pregnant he didn't want to move her or leave her in Florida by herself while he moved across the country for the season. So he "retired" and said he might return in 2012. And just this week he said he wants to play again. So, he is a man of his word, gotta give him that.

Those are the facts

I can't find anything saying that the Bears or anyone else offered him a contract. I call shenanigans. -EK

You always do. Believe what ya want. I don't have the energy to convince you of what happened. Because I really don't care about Channing Crowder or this topic all that much.

I can see why you would say that, but you're usually good about having something to back up what you're posting. I spent an hour trying to find something- ANYTHING- saying anybody offered him a contract at all. Couldn't find jack, but found the Pats thing multiple times, which leads me to believe that no one actually did offer this idiot a chance to play. I don't really care if you're right or wrong for once; I'm honestly curious if anyone can substantiate this claim, as it would likely give some idea if he will be picked up this year. Call it my basic curiosity. -EK

In a sort-of related update, apparently the Falcons are interested in him. -EK
