Brandon Marshall appears in the clear

A little self respect? What a joke of a statement. Didn't the trade for Marshall the same off-season that it leaked Ireland asked their best other option at WR that year if his mother was a prostitute? "Hey, we don't want Brandon despite the fact that he's the best receiver we've had in decades because he's not squeaky clean, but we'll evaluate rookies by asking them demeaning and completely unprofessional questions about themselves and their families." SHOCKER! Both Bryant and Marshall are Pro Bowlers, and Miami has NEITHER, not anyone else of note because of these kinds of antics. Bottom line- almost no one was bitching when Marshall came. Everyone was all excited because Miami got a number one receiver. No one said, "look out for this guy. He's trouble. He drops balls and doesn't score." It's complete hypocrisy to say that now and twice as much hypocrisy to say he was gotten rid of so Miami has some self-respect with the way the organization handles all of its other off-season business. -EK

Ireland's excuse for the Pat White pick (a 2009 second-rounder) was that Parcells made the call on "that pick." This establishes two things:

1) By the time of the 2009 draft, Ireland was already handling the roster (otherwise, Parcells wouldn't have made the call on "that pick"; he would have made the call on all of the picks)
2) Ireland has no problem whatsoever passing the buck on decisions that were "not his fault" (and no such excuse has surfaced re: Marshall's acquisition)

Just focusing on the White aspect, Parcell's himself has expressed his remourse over the pick. You seem to have ignored that.

I ignored it because it isn't relevant.  Some people have implied that the Marshall trade was not Ireland's choice because "Parcells was still in control"; if that were the case, Ireland would have quickly thrown Parcells under the bus, just as he did with White.

Yea, he really thre him under the bus here.  Both men seem to have taken blame on it. The truth of the matter is all of these guys sat together and made these decisions. It isn't just a blame this or that guy situation.

Really?  We're fighting about Brandon Marshall?  A guy who at best is a 1200 yard receiver who likes to drop touchdown passes and be a distraction?  Who gives a shit who was responsible for the trade?  He's not our problem anymore.  He's in Chicago where his numbers are going to be about as bas as they were in Miami, he'll stab his girlfriend again, Jay Cutler will cry because that's what Jay Cutler does and we can all get on with our lives.

Marshall's biggest problem is he never knows when to shut up! He just can't keep a low profile. He has the league investigating him and the police still with an open case and he keeps talking and talking.

Have fun Chicago! This guy will make you want Rodman back in your city! The circus is back in town!

Yep! Marshall can't be trusted. Yelling at QB's on the sideline. Throwing assistant coaches under the bus in the media. Punching teammates in the locker-room and off the field arrests and antics that are embarrassing and unprofessional.

Take "production" talk and throw it out the window. At what point do you just say, this guy is a piece of garbage and we don't want him around anymore?!  He gives the entire franchise a black eye with his antics off the field. And we can come in 3rd place or last place with or without him! 

He caused trouble in Denver. He caused trouble in Miami. And he is giving no signs of changing anytime soon. Miami needed him gone. This goes far beyond numbers and touchdowns. At some point a franchise must have a little self respect. You don't need a roster full of alter boys but you can't let a guy openly take a crap on coaches and teammates time after time while being in trouble non-stop off the field with police and such and just hide behind the fact he is the best WR we got, so we will let him get away it!

So we get less production without Marshall from his replacements. Can we NOT come in 3rd or 4th place without him? lol....because that's the team we had with him. A 3rd and 4th place team in our division.
 

Agree! He had 9 TD's in 2 yrs. and dropped more than that. He was vastly overpaid and was a cancer. Good riddance! The team will be better without him and I suspect the team will have more total passing yards this year than last.

I never said Cutler would say anything negative about him.  I said he was a prima donna who dropped too many TD passes and never lived up to his mouth, and that the dude's a distraction magnet.   

That said, this would be something I'd consider wagering on.  Especially if Chicago plays like they did last year.

Brandon Marshall beating up on Matt Moore and the Dolphins QB's continued yesterday at ESPN. As he said..."I believe in me, but I don't believe in me without a quarterback," Brandon Marshall told ESPN First Take.

He went on to say more crazy things about the Fins. For a guy who is "happy" to be in Chicago he is still living in the past alot and can't seem to get over a few things.

He also admitted he was an ass in Miami... "When I got to Miami, things got out of control ... when I couldn't control certain things on football field as far as when a coach gets on me and he's wrong - I know he's wrong - and I just burst out, I needed help. I knew I needed help."
