This reminds me of those that defend Paterno...rioting in the streets when you get rid of a guy that protected a child rapist.

If your team cuts a guy for battering his wife, shut the F up about it and do your job.  Even if you feel that way, it makes you look like a huge asshole and it undermines your coach.

I would agree with that. Nothing good could have come from him voicing his opinion on this matter.

This isn't the first time Dansby has said something stupid to the media, though. He's not a problem player by any means, but he talks too much. Shut up and play. -EK

By all accounts, Johnson was having a good training camp, and I'm sure a lot of his former teammates are surprised and/or upset to see him gone.

A lot cam be said of editing but a lot can also be said about how biased these camp reports usually are. Sean Smith owned Johnson on the clips being shown and I also heard he was having a very good camp. Maybe Johnson really was not looking as good as we heard?

Dunno.  I never heard or read anything that wasn't fairly glowing concerning Chad's on field performance.  If he was not doing so well, then why was he tops on the depth chart?  Or does that speak more to the depth of the WR corp?

actually according to last night's episode Chad wasn't having that great of a training camp. Lots of mistakes and had the QB's bitching about him just doing his own thing on the field and he was confusing them at times.

First I've come across that was negative regarding on field play.  Don't forget, they have a "duty" of editing their show to be more compelling to the viewer instead of being accurate.  Since I can't watch the show, I have no idea what you saw, though.

Chad running wrong poor routes in practice and throwing his helmet saying he is making rookie mistakes mad at himself. Then in the QB meeting all 4 QB's watching film saying "what the hell is chad doing out there" and Garrard saying he was going to have to have a talk with him and straighten things out.

Yet somehow, he was on top of the depth chart?

The 1st depth chart the 1st week of camp. With Brian Hartline out. Doesn't mean it would have stayed that way going forward

No, but Vontae Davis' demotion on that same chart was due to his play.  Based on that, I don't believe Chad Johnson would have been listed #1 on that chart unless he was actually the best receiver in camp at that time.

I agree at that time. But as Hard Knocks showed this week as camp went on Chad began to struggle some. He would have fallen most likely if he were still around from that #1 spot

^^please don't tell me you're making football judgments based on Hard Knocks.  Its a TV show.

They were lining up to the firing of Chad Johnson.  So they showed some bad plays.

Last week they featured him, so they showed some good plays!

Doesn't mean anything, one way or the other, about how the overall performance in camp was.

Please don't use Hard Knocks production staff dictate your view on players, coaches, or the team in a football capacity.  Its not a documentary, its for entertainment.

LOL....football judgments are based off the current depth chart, what I saw in the preseason game, what I read from the beat reporters at practice every day, and yes what I see on Hard Knocks. Uh what they show, those  plays really happened. Those aren't paid actors under the helmets and pads! lol. These players and coaches aren't reading off a script. LOL! They also showed Chad's drop in the first episode and  all but said he was afraid to go over the middle. So it wasn't like they did a 180 in episode #2.  The coaches said what they said about him. They quarterbacks said what they said about him. Putting your head in the sand and denying what is actually going on is dangerous.
