How often do you text?

Can someone please tell me WTF has texting while driving not been made illegal in all 50 states? I was driving down a 2 lane road the other day and I see this car right on my rear bumper. It is some teenager texting. I honked my horn to get their attention and pulled over to let them by. Would rather them be in front of me than behind.

Seriously, how many people have to die???

Many states have enacted laws specifically.  I am not sure why.  Just call it "reckless driving" and/or "driving to endanger" (which it is) and it is already covered by existing laws.

I text, and receive texts regularly. I usually only have a few things to say, and most of the time I'm working, so it works for me. Now, like Dave said, when the texts start to become a conversation it gets annoying. That's when I just call.
