If Dan Carpenter doesn't miss a FG in Week 3 the Jets get easily swept by the Fins in all honesty!

Which is why the Dolphins need to bring in a young kicker to challenge him and put him on notice.  The Dolphins could be sitting at 6-1 if not for his missed kicks.

Maybe not this year.  But like Fins4ever and I were discussing in another thread.  There are some really good kickers coming out of college this year.  Caleb Sturgis of UF and Dustin Hopkins of FSU.  I wouldn't mind spending a late round pick on one of them.

Absolutely. I have read a few articles on the trend going on with kickers. Basically, they are getting stronger and more accurate.

There is also a trend in the NFL to use a late round pick on a kicker. Heck, the Raiders used a 1st round pick on Janikowski.

I am not saying get rid of Carp or make a knee jerk reaction based on one or two games, but like anyone else, he needs competition. Honestly, if you look at his career stats, they are about average.

Nope.  If Carpenter hits the FG, the Dolphins barely squeak by the Jets week 3.

Fins had several games that one play could have changed the outcome, including Bengals and Rams.

Yes, the fins are two plays away from being 6-1, but they are also 2 plays away from being 2-5.
